Zenith Class Les Nouveaux Classiques Collection

These new models, featuring watchmaking simplicity and sobriety, are resolutely classical. The collection offers three models: a moon phase with triple calendar, a power reserve and an hour-minute-seconds hand with the seconds hand at the centre.
The case, aesthetically reminiscent of the 50s, is available in two sizes (XT: 44mm and T: 40mm) thus offering a perfect fit for any wrist. Available in rose gold with a silver dial or in stainless steel with a black or a silver dial they will adapt to any personality.
Furthermore, there is an emphasis on detail with the new « clou de Paris » guilloche and with “cabronés” indexes in solid gold or stainless steel. On the back of the watch, through the transparent glass it is possible to see the 4100, 6850 and 679 calibres perfected over twelve months in our watchmaking facilities. The art of discreet luxury and subtle refinement are at the core of these New Classics.

Baume & Mercier Classima Executives L retro

Retro styling is perfectly suited to Baume & Mercier watches and judging by the success of the first Classima Executives retro launched 2005 in celebration of the brand’s 175th anniversary.

To carry on in this creative direction, the Baume & Mercier design studio has imagined two new Classima Executives L retro models, of even greater originality. A strong desire to enhance the design of small watchmaking complications has contributed to the elaboration of two pieces featuring noble aesthetics and technical quality. Two very singular watches with a shared vintage spirit.

Classima Executives L retro (MOA08695)
The Classima Executives L retro (MOA08695)*displays the perfect balance of touches of retro inspiration and a resolutely contemporary allure. It houses a self-winding Dubois Dépraz mechanical movement and a small watchmaking complication: a regulator. This function first appeared in the XVIIth century and is considered to be the most accurate time instrument, by enabling the hours, minutes and seconds to be read separately. In addition to its technical watchmaking attributes, the regulator with its individual counters makes an important contribution to the watch’s retro look and the dial’s distinctive design.

Of course, the over-sized crown and generously cambered crystal, so typical of the watches of the 50’s, have not been forgotten. The finesse of detail of the silvered Opalin dial combined with a beveled flange confers the entire watch with its very own yesteryear elegance. This Classima Executives L highlights all the characteristics of ideal proportions; the center of the case back is engraved with the Greek letter Phi, the golden rectangle (rectangle whose length and width ratio is equal to the golden number: 1.618) and the infinite decimal numerals of the golden number that are inscribed along the outer edge.
Technical details
  • Men’s watch from the Classima EXECUTIVES collection
  • Self-winding Dubois Dépraz 14070 mechanical movement with regulator function
  • Round L-size watch case (39mm) in steel, water resistant to 30 meters
  • Opalin silvered dial with hour and seconds counters and rust-brown Arabic numerals.
  • Appliqué rhodiumed Greek letter Phi
  • Superluminova-coated rhodiumed indexes, hour and minute hands
  • Date display at 3 o’clock
  • Case back engraved with the Phi and golden number
  • Square-scaled brown alligator strap with tone-on-tone stitching and pin buckle
Classima Executives L retro red gold (MOA08690)
This Classima Executives L retro red gold (MOA08690) reflects a skillful dose of vintage styling and technical watchmaking characteristics. Its automatic Dubois Dépraz movement is doted with a jumping hour complication and confers retro appeal to the dial with an aperture at 12 o’clock and a minute counter. The combination of red gold and a black satin-finished sun décor dial sublimates the watch’s overall art-deco charm.

An exceptional piece in every way, the sapphire crystal case back reveals the entire watch movement. And that’s not all; the sapphire crystal comes engraved with the brand’s emblem – the Greek letter Phi and its golden number.

  • Men’s watch from the Classima EXECUTIVES collection

Hublot Project F Bang

The Hour Glass and Hublot SA has joined hands in the name of charity, launching “Project F Bang”, an original collaboration between the Swiss luxury watch brand, its exclusive retailer and local charity organization, Make A Wish Foundation.

The Hour Glass, an exclusive distributor of Hublot timepieces in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, has committed to support the projects of the Foundation, whose objective is to help grant the wishes of children with life threatening illness, with the noble cause of bringing them some joy, hope and strength during the difficult period of their lives. Mr Michael Tay, Executive Director of The Hour Glass says, « When I first heard about Make A Wish Foundation, I was immediately caught with the beauty of it – of granting the wishes of ill children.

The concept is so simple yet magical, not to mention original, much like Hublot. Hublot has always been an advocate of social messages, with its various charity projects around the world, for instance, the Aryton Senna watch, named after the Foundation that the late F1 driver created to bring education to deprived children from the slums of Brazil. The launch of Hublot’s « Project F Bang » and dedicated to Singapore’s first F1 race, provided a perfect opportunity to marry a social message and to mark a momentuous occasion.

“Project F Bang” is the world’s first Split Second-Hand Chronograph with a left hand crown and pushers. Targeted to be launched during the inaugural Singapore F1 Race with the assistance of Singapore Motor GP, the watch will be produced in a limited quantity of 100 pieces.

The watch features the famous 44.5mm Big Bang All Black case with red kevlar on the side of the case and oreille. The all black dial will have the 12 o’clock hour indicated in red with the split-second hand alternating in red and white, the Singapore national colours. Both the pushers and crown are in black with red kevlar inserts.

Hublot Big Bang Madre Perla 41mm

A refined and delicate model if ever there was one, the Big Bang Madre Perla has retained all its original features intact. In this noble and unique model, its design remains unchanged, complete with mother-of-pearl dial that lends the watch its distinguished air. Diamonds and satin-finish steel, alligator skin and rubber merge and fuse with astonishing simplicity.

Baume & Mercier William Baume Collection

William Baume, heir to the «Frères Baume» manufacture, founded by his grandfather in 1830, brought new dynamics and international status to the family enterprise through the creation of a partnership in 1918 with Paul Mercier, a charismatic figurehead of the day.

In an era of evolution and change, marked by unprecedented technical and artistic creativity, together they founded the Baume & Mercier brand in Geneva in 1920, thus uniting their totally complementary competences: William Baume, the rigorous and avant-garde watchmaker and Paul Mercier, the cosmopolitan aesthete and businessman.

The William Baume Collection perfectly illustrates Baume & Mercier’s founding philosophy and know-how. By doting its emblematic Hampton and Classima Executives watch models with traditional watchmaking complication movements, Baume & Mercier renews its ties with its origins and honors the heritage of William Baume : horological craftsmanship. The William Baume Collection : four exclusive, limited edition pieces (177 pieces for the timepieces in gold and 1830 pieces for the steel versions) for traditional watchmaking enthusiasts.

WILLIAM A. BAUME(1885-1956)
A watchmaker of outstanding talent, he was heir to a family saga that commenced in 1830 when his grandfather, Louis-Victor Baume, and a brother co-founded «Frères Baume», in les Bois in the Swiss Jura. This watchmaking atelier gained worldwide recognition thanks to the excellence and innovativeness of its timepieces and was awarded numerous distinctions between 1885 and 1910. It notably obtained the highest mark at the Kew Observatory Chronometer trials in England, the most prestigious competition in its day and several gold medals at universal exhibitions in Paris, London, Philadelphia and Geneva.

In 1910, William Baume took over the family enterprise from his father. He left the Les Bois village in 1918 to settle in Geneva, where he formed a partnership with Paul Mercier and the brand «Baume & Mercier, Genève» saw the day in 1920. Strongly committed to the reputation built by his ancestors and fervently loyal to their maxim «Only manufacture watches of the highest quality», William Baume was responsible for obtaining for Baume & Mercier in 1921 the prestigious Geneva hallmark, the highest distinction in the Swiss watchmaking industry.

Baume & Mercier RIVIERA XXL MAGNUM

In 1973, Baume & Mercier surprised the watchmaking world with the RIVIERA, the twelve-sided watch dividing the round watch into twelve facets: one for each hour.

And almost after three decades, in 2007, the RIVIERA reveals itself in a whole new way as a modern-day adventurer with the new XXL MAGNUM model. It retains its twelve-sided design and its broad bezel, but adds titanium and rubber to its range of materials. The oversized 43mm case is topped by a double bezel: the first in sunray satin-brushed steel and the second in sapphire-blasted titanium.

Rubber is also featured in the strap: in addition to its resistance to extreme conditions and the harshest treatment,it ensures optimal wearer comfort and suppleness. That is definitely good news, because the RIVIERA XXL MAGNUM is surely not designed for a restful life. It is on the contrary endowed with a decidedly sporting nature that is reinforced by its design and functions. A high-precision chronograph makes it possible to count off each second of effort or pleasure on its owner’s wrist. The two chronograph counters, surrounded by a metal ornament that is rhodium-plated and decorated with “Côtes de Genève”,stand out clearly against the black dial to ensure optimal readability.
The new RIVIERA XXL MAGNUM is powered by a mechanical self-winding movement. A vertical porthole on the back of the case enables one to observe the “machine room” and the steadily vibrating oscillating weight. The latter winds the mechanism with each wrist movement: the more sport the owner does, the more energy he pumps into his RIVIERA watch.

Zenith Mega Port Royal Watch Collection

Taking inspiration directly from the urban and futuristic jungles of New York and Tokyo, the Port Royal Collection came into being when two epochs collided. From Metropolises to Megalopolises, Port Royal has taken one step further towards an avant-garde design by offering these new 2008 models with cases of even more massive and straight-edged architecture.

Unique power, exaggerated proportions, athletic build, tight lines. The symbol of absolute virility, wearing a Mega Port Royal means channelling all one’s energy to one’s wrist. The individual can control his fate thanks to the taming of his inner strength, like a modern-day Samurai putting his entire strike force into a single punch to the heart of his timepiece.

MEGA PORT ROYAL OPEN EL PRIMERO GRANDE DATE CONCEPT
More avant-garde than ever, the new Mega Port Royal Concept goes even further. Its new case is structured like a skyscraper, it is imposing, it makes its own statement. The dimensions are impressive. Made entirely of black titanium, a light and extremely strong material, it looks dark and combative.

For the dial, TR90, a very strong and translucent polymorphous material which was discovered as a result of space technology, creates a depth of field that produces a trompe-l’œil effect : the numerals and power reserve seem to levitate.

The Open shows the new El Primero 4039 C motor comprising 331 parts and 41 rubies. In the background, the upper plate can be seen, decorated with the famous chessboard that reproduces the skyscraper facades, the signature of the range. This futuristic design allows the adjustment screws and the wheeling mechanism to be glimpsed as well as the 3-disk patented Grande Date system, a major innovation this year.

Another novelty, the power reserve has been redesigned as a horizontal accelerator pedal picked out with a bright red indicator. Finally, the rubber strap forms an integral part of the watch, as though better to emphasise the majestic grandeur of the new case.

MEGA PORT ROYAL OPEN EL PRIMERO GRANDE DATE
This year a new model is added to the Port Royal Open in rose gold and stainless steel, already available in two sizes, the Mega Port Royal Open Grande Date. A new vision for the future. This timepiece has a new and more imposing case in brushed steel that stands out and is meant exclusively for strong personalities. The basalt black or metal grey dials are chiseled with geometric perpendicular lines. The power reserve design has been redesigned as a horizontal accelerator pedal picked out with a bright red indicator. These two alternatives are offered with an integral matte rubber strap for a sporty look or in black alligator for a more elegant touch.

Mastering the passage of time is denoted with a day-by-day progression and for this a new complication has been added: the new El Primero 4039 B chronograph, visible as usual through the rectangular opening of the Open at 11 o’clock. It is endowed with a Grande Date whose functioning is made possible thanks to a revolutionary 3-disk patented system.

MEGA PORT ROYAL TOURBILLON EL PRIMERO
Decisively futuristic, this Tourbillon has a breathtaking design. Impressive materials and amazing watchmaking know-how. Housed in a new Mega case in black titanium, this prestigious Grande Complication is intended to eliminate the effects of gravity by enclosing the escapement in a gyroscopic cage. An enthralling piece with a unique style.

The combination with the El Primero chronograph, pulsating at 36,000 vibrations an hour, makes it the fastest tourbillon in the world. And surprisingly, a grid riveted on the case encrusted with watchmaker’s rubies protects the sapphire glass. Inside, the TR90 dial plays with light and offers a view on the complexity of the 4007 C calibre. The movement comprises 298 components and 35 rubies and the Tourbillon cage is made up of 56 pieces weighing 0.45 grams. Finally, a silicon anchor ensures there is no friction on the escapement. Concentrated technology in a hallmarked and numbered timepiece.

The First Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces Collection

Classic and contemporary watches, able to evoke with their temperament the iconic musts of  Salvatore Ferragamo’s great successes: from the partnership with Timex Group - Luxury Watches, here come the four Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces collections.

These original pieces recall with subtlety and elegance different aspects of Ferragamo’s long history focused on “beauty”.All four collections, each according to its own peculiarity and whim, with their pure and refined design, pay a brilliant tribute to the Italian tradition of craftsmanship, which has always been able to combine luxury and creativity. The collection’s mechanical movements are the result of Swiss watchmaking excellence: from the automatic ones with sapphire crystal glass to the GMT chronograph up to the precious Tourbillon movement. Timeless watches completely immersed in our times. Wrist accessories always recognizable due to the signs of the Florence-based fashion house’s unique style.

Launched in July 2008, all the Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces models will be available in the best Ferragamo boutiques and in the most prestigious jewelry’s shops spread all over the world.

1. Salvatore Ferragamo-F80 Watch
A collection of watches within the “Travel Luxury” area, characterized by an essential name, easy to remember yet strongly evocative. As a matter of fact, F-80 recalls the eightieth anniversary of the fashion house, featuring also the 8 number, considered a lucky number in Asia. The F-80 model interprets the “Travel Luxury” themes and the material experimentation, which are distinguishing traits of the brand’s tradition.

This watch combines the titanium structure with a refined ceramic, featured both on the bracelet and on the case top ring. The clean and linear design, the ultrapure sapphire crystal, the mechanical movement excellence characterize both the GMT Automatic Chronograph2 Time Zones and the outstanding automatic Tourbillon with an 18K gold case, produced on demand in limited edition.

2. Salvatore Ferragamo Gancino watch
A feminine collection centered on a peculiar symbol of the Ferragamo world: the famous Gancino, which was, and still is, used to close many accessories designed by Salvatore Ferragamo. The Gancino thus stars as the main feature of this elegant timepiece, strongly iconic, trendy and classic altogether.
The complete range starts from the basic version in stainless steel and goes up to the top one in solid gold with diamonds. Luxurious materials and precious jewel details further embellish this watch, perfect with the most sophisticated looks, as well as with the most informal ones.

3. Salvatore Ferragamo Vara Watch Collection
The Vara collection, inspired by the renowned Ferragamo shoe, which over the years has seduced women all around the world, pays a tribute to the creative use of the fashion house’s materials and colors. With a design borrowed from the shoe buckle, the Vara watch amazes with its kit of three interchangeable straps, allowing thus to customize the look in a fast, easy and stylish way.
The straps come from an accurate and original material research, as in the purest Ferragamo style: crocodile and lizard leather, gros grain, which feel soft and pleasant on the skin, all available in a rich chromatic offer, ranging from ruby-red to silver and orange, without leaving out the classic white and black. The collection includes models in stainless steel and in solid gold, with cases plain or embellished by 44 diamonds, mother-of-pearl or full paved dials.

4. Salvatore Ferragamo-Salvatore Watch Collection
Sharp and timeless, the Salvatore collection features a round case marked by a strong personalitysubtly recalling, in its unique silhouette, the famous platform created by Salvatore Ferragamo in the ‘30s. Salvatore is a tribute to the fashion house’s “prophetic vision” and style which has always proved to be receptive of the spirit of the time.
Refined details pay homage to the brand’s craftsmanship tradition: straps in precious alligator leather, guilloche dials and, for the automatic models, case-backs in sapphire crystal that reveal the exclusive finishing of the mechanical movement. In some models, the stainless steel case is embellished by a bezel and by details in 18K rose-gold.

Special Features of Salvatore Ferragamo watches
SWISS MADE: All Salvatore Ferragamo watches are Swiss made as indicated on the dial. All movements used by Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces are Swiss made (Valjoux, Eta, Ronda).

QUARTZ: The first quartz movement was created in 1967. Quartz is used to describe a watch powered by an oscillating quartz crystal which draws its power from a small battery. Oscillating 32,768 times per second, an electronic circuit divides this oscillation into precise increments of 1 second or less. At Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces, quartz is used on 2 hands, 3 hands or quartz chronograph. Quartz watches are extremely accurate (3 minutes/ year). Watches have been made super-accurate by using a much higher frequency (e.g. 4.2 million cycles per second) or by using two oscillators and temperature compensation. If a Salvatore Ferragamo watch has a quartz movement, it is not written on the dial. Three examples of watches with quartz movements:ETA 956.112 on the F-80 33 mm, ETA 901.001 on the Vara and RONDA 1032 on the Assoluto.

BATTERIES: Only one type of battery is used for Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces: a silver dioxide battery(between 4 to 6 years lifetime with a normal use). Three examples: RONDA 715 on the Salvatore Quartz 3 hands -6 years, ETA 251.471 on the F-80 quartz chronograph - 4 years and RONDA 1032 on the Palagio Lady - 5 years.

INDICATOR OF END OF LIFE (EOL): All Salvatore Ferragamo quartz watches have an indicator of “end of life” – “EOL”: the central seconds hand jumps every four seconds in order to signal that the battery is depleting. The battery should be replaced as soon as possible.

2 HANDS OR 3 HANDS: 2 hands show minutes and hours. 3 hands show seconds, minutes and hours. Three examples:RONDA 785 on the Palagio quartz 3 hands:::ETA 901.001 on the Gancino 2 hands:::RONDA 715 on the Salvatore 3 hands.

AUTOMATIC: The system was invented in Switzerland by Abraham Louis Perrelet in the 18th century: the mainspring is wound by the movements of the wearer’s arm. On the basis of the principle of terrestrial attraction, a rotor turns and transmits its energy to the spring by means of an appropriate mechanism. The number of watch components varies between 50 for a 3 hands to 300 for a chronograph. The power reserve of an automatic watch indicates the number of hours it takes to a movement to stop ticking (46 hours for the F-80 GMT). Automatic movements are appreciated by watch-fans (“a watch with a soul”) and are environment friendly (no need to change battery).

Automatic watches are 12 times less precise than quartz watches: variation of 3 minutes per month. If a Salvatore Ferragamo Timepiece has an automatic movement, it is written on the dial and its backcase is transparent so that the mechanism can be seen. Three examples of automatic movements at Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces: VALJOUX 7750 on the F-80 Chronograph, ETA 2824-2 on the Salvatore Automatic 3 hands Rose Gold and SOPROD 753-24H GMT on the F-80 GMT.

ROTOR:The oscillating mass which winds an automatic movement. A rotor most commonly is free to rotate in a full 360 degrees and may wind the watch when it is rotatingin one direction only or indeed may wind in both directions through the use of reverser wheels and gears. The Salvatore Ferragamo logo is always engraved on the rotor, which is often treated with black Ion Plating. The rotor and the watch movement can be seen on all Salvatore Ferragamo automatic watches through a transparent back case made of sapphire crystal.

TOURBILLON: Device invented by Bréguet to eliminate errors of rate in the vertical positions and therefore compensate the effects of the earth attraction on the movement. It consists of a mobile cage carrying all the parts of the escapement, with the balance in the centre. The escape pinion turns about the fixed fourth wheel. The case makes one revolution per minute, thus annulling errors of rate in the vertical positions. Tourbillon watches are rare, complicated, and difficult to create, belonging therefore to the most expensive timepieces.

CHRONOGRAPH: Defines a movement with two independent time systems: one indicates the time of day, and the other measures brief intervals of time. Counters registering seconds, minutes and even hours can be started and stopped as desired. It is therefore possible to measure the exact duration of a phenomenon. Not to be confused with the chronometer (or COSC - Official Swiss Certified Chronometer, which is an official Swiss certificate proving the preciseness of the movement in multiple position, under various pressures and temperatures). Chronographs are used for sports activities or as an accessory showing a sporty lifestyle. At Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces, a chronograph can be either quartz or automatic.Three examples:ETA 251.471 on the F-80 quartz Chronograph, VALJOUX 7750 on the Salvatore Automatic Chronograph and ETA 251.471 on the Palagio quartz Chronograph.

GMT (GREENWICH MEAN TIME - 2 TIMEZONES): Mean time at the meridian of the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, which is the prime meridian of the world. GMT is a civil time beginning at midnight. At Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces there is one watch which is GMT (or 2 time-zones): the F-80 chronograph automatic GMT. To read the time in the second time zone, follow the blue hand and read the 24 hours scale: the white part of the scale indicates the day-time, the black part between 18 and 6 shows the night.

WATER RESISTANCE
A water-resistant case is a watch-case whose joints are made to prevent moisture from entering. All Salvatore Ferragamo watches are water-resistant to either 30 meters,50 meters or 100 meters.

CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH™ - Argonaut 1000 TQ

The CX Swiss Military Watch™ brand, which won a Guinness record in 2006 for its 12,000 FEET, now offers its new generation of ARGONAUT diver’s watches: the titanium 1000 TQ, a solid, powerful watch that is astonishingly light. Equipped with a helium escapement valve that protects the movement from the pressure of the water and guarantees total water-resistance to 1000 metres, this timekeeping instrument has been designed by and for diving aficionados, based on the 2007 model and powered by an automatic movement housed in a steel case. With its chronograph function and extendible rubber strap, it boasts all the features of a diver’s watch par excellence.
Wearing the ARGONAUT 1000 TQ is an invitation to explore the magnificent splendours of the ocean depths, but also to travel through time. As its name suggests, this timekeeper evokes the legend of Jason who, in Homer’s Odyssey, took fifty travelling companions, the Argonauts, on board his ship. Together, they braved high winds and storms and faced enemies both human and divine, the fierce hostility of a dragon and a thousand other obstacles in their quest to rescue the famous Golden Fleece. The expedition’s successful outcome resulted in Jason becoming king. Associated with such extraordinary feats, the Argonauts represent daring and strength of character, qualities expressed in the latest ARGONAUT model from CX Swiss Military Watch™.
Made even more fascinating by the prodigious exploits its name evokes, the ARGONAUT 1000 TQ offers cutting-edge technology and comfort. Lighter than ever thanks to its high-performance titanium case, this new 46 mm diver’s watch benefits from the brand’s experience as a top-level military and sports watch specialist.
Both stylish and functional, the ARGONAUT 1000 TQ features over-sized luminescent hands and hour markers for trouble-free reading underwater. The extra-large crown, developed for easy use in any situation, and the graduated 60-minute unidirectional rotating bezel are also designed for greater diving security. Sporting a silver, black, yellow or blue dial, the watch comes on a titanium bracelet with a double safety folding clasp, or on a rubber strap with an extension for dry-suit diving.

Chronoswiss Digiteur

Launched in 2005-06, this rectangular wristwatch admirably expresses Gerd-Rüdiger Lang’s passion for traditional values. It goes without saying that this timepiece uses mechanical means to measure the passing time. Its case is rectangular, and so too is its ticking inner life: the aforementioned Caliber FEF 130. Of course, to satisfy Chronoswiss’s lofty standards, the original caliber has been modified and finely reworked.

As the name “Digiteur” implies, the type of time display recalls an important epoch in wristwatch history. Printed disks rotate to indicate the hours, minutes, and seconds. The hours disk jumps one increment further along after each 60-minute interval has elapsed; the other two disks rotate continuously. To support this digital display, Chronoswiss developed a unique mechanism, which is mounted on the front side of the clockwork.
Chronoswiss surrounds this tonneau-shaped opus technicus with a rectangular case: crafted from solid yellow, red, or white gold, the case is watertight to 30 meters. A pane of sapphire crystal, antireflective on one of its surfaces, protects the front side of the watch.

The shaped movement needn’t hide itself from view: it’s free to reveal its full beauty thanks to a transparent pane of sapphire crystal in the back of the case. The Digiteur is a hand-wound watch that requires daily contact with the tips of its wearer’s thumb and index finger, so Chronoswiss made its crown particularly convenient to grasp. Screwed lugs affix the hand-sewn leather strap to the case.

“All excellent things are invariably rare” – and the Caliber FEF 130 is no exception. Only a small number of calibers remained in stock, so Chronoswiss had to limit the Digiteur in a edition of 990 specimens.
