JEANRICHARD becomes Global Partner as well as “Official Watch” of Arsenal FC

The Swiss watchmaker JEANRICHARD has announced as the Global Partner as well as “Official Watch” of the emblematic London football club Arsenal FC of the English Premier League. This long-term partnership marks a major step forward for the newest oldest Swiss watch brand that is now going to play in the “Premier League” and for Arsenal that has a very strong global following.
Football, just like watchmaking, is a Philosophy of Life. Team spirit, dedication and passion are common values; joining fans, players, collectors, watchmakers and everyone involved in the history and pioneering spirit of both JEANRICHARD and Arsenal on one common ground. It was therefore a natural decision that both organisations now embark on a new journey together.

What started off in 1886 in Woolwich when a group of factory workers got together to build the “Arsenal”, has gone on to form one of the most successful football teams in English and European history.

Now, over 125 years later, the “Gunners” are not only known for their numerous achievements or their heritage. Arsène Wenger’s philosophy to find the best young talent and develop them into the stars of tomorrow is known the world over. Just as Arsenal is known to recruit and develop young talents, Daniel Jeanrichard, founder of the watch industry in the late seventeenth century, embarked on a journey to educate the next generation, promoting values nurturing his Philosophy of Life – passion for hard work, authenticity, fair play, team spirit, and loyalty amongst each other. Jeanrichard was careful to hand down the knowledge and the spirit of excellence to future generations, and played an important role in setting up an apprenticeship system that is active to this day.
JEANRICHARD has been one of the first luxury watchmakers to support football on an international level starting with its Italian venture in 2003. As a Global Partner as well as “Official Watch” of Arsenal, it will now support the Gunners on the impressive home-turf of Emirates Stadium and on the road.  Alongside significant presence within the stadium on match days, the Swiss watchmaker will unveil a limited edition “Arsenal” watch in the near future, to drive the success of this partnership on all levels.
JEANRICHARD
JEANRICHARD watches have been conceived for all those who enjoy challenges, revel in the unknown, and would like to live their lives to the fullest, savouring the best of each moment. These are the everyday adventurers, who enjoy authenticity and will make no compromises, be that on quality or on design. These are independent spirits who scorn conventions and play by their own rules, travelling off the beaten paths.

The art of life JEANRICHARD timepieces come in four different collections that each pay tribute to the elements of our universe: Terrascope, Aquascope, Aeroscope and 1681. Earth, water, air, plus the fire of passion that has inspired our brand for over three centuries and has excited sophisticated globetrotters every day anew.

JEANRICHARD is part of the Kering Group, a world leader in apparel and accessories which develops an ensemble of powerful Luxury and Sport & Lifestyle brands.

ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB
Arsenal is one of the leading clubs in world football with a strong heritage of success, progressive thinking and financial stability. Arsenal Football Club was founded in 1886 in Woolwich, south London, before moving to Highbury in north London in 1913. Arsenal has an impressive roll of honour: English League Champions 13 times, FA Cup winners 10 times, League Cup winners twice and European Cup Winners’ Cup (1994) and European Fairs Cup (1970) winners once. In addition, Arsenal Ladies are the most successful English club in women’s football. Arsenal’s Manager since 1996 has been Frenchman Arsène Wenger. Wenger is Arsenal Football Club’s most successful manager. His honours include three League titles, four FA Cups and four Charity/Community Shields, including two League and Cup ‘doubles’ in 1998 and 2002.

IWC Schaffhausen GST Perpetual Calendar Ref. 3756

Introduced in 2001, the GST Perpetual Calendar from IWC is mechanically programmed until the year 2499. The Patent for this special programming mechanism is held by IWC Schaffhausen. This eternal timepiece not only handles current and future time but also comes with the most popular additional function of the age: a classical mechanical chronograph that provides aggregate timing of any period between one eighth of a second and 12 hours.
The small, internal dials show the correct day, date, moon phase and the complete four-digit year in the window at 8 p.m., where the century slide with the first two figures of the year can also be found, waiting its turn for action. And it’s a long wait: the next time it moves will be at the end of the year 2099. At that point, the “21” for the next century will slide noiselessly into position. A reserve slide with the numbers 22-24 is supplied in a tiny, sealed glass vial inside the watch.

In IWC’s eyes, a perfectly mechanical program is one in which the calendar is powered and controlled completely independently by the main automatic movement and where the extra day in leap years is likewise handled without any intervention from the owner. Needless to say, this also applies to the phase of the moon display, one of the most accurate in existence. After 122 years in action, it will be just one day out, and the necessary tiny adjustment can be made by a watchmaker.
All calendar functions can be adjusted using the (screw-in) crown. This exclusive IWC feature requires no push buttons or pins and, like the four-digit year display, is protected by patent. The calendar must not be adjusted between 8 pm and 2 am and must never be turned back. Any owner who puts the calendar forward has two options: to wait until time catches up with the watch or to send it in to Schaffhausen.

The GST Perpetual Calendar, Ref. 3756, is available in a choice of two materials with three different dials.

The GST Perpetual Calendar in titanium, it comes with the patented, integrated bracelet concept found throughout the GST line; this requires no screws and can be shortened or lengthened easily by the wearer. It is held together by the high-security push-button clasp. The titanium model comes with a black dial featuring special high-contrast white hands and indices, all luminous.
The GST Perpetual Calendar in stainless steel is available either with a discreet, light rhodium plated dial and rhodium-plated hands and indices or with a dial in that classic warm colour for high-quality watch dials, saumon, likewise with rhodium-plated hands and indices. Both watches are fitted with the integrated GST steel bracelet.

Both models have non-reflecting, convex sapphire glasses for a clear view of the dial at all times together with ornate engraving on the back. They are both water-resistant to 120 m.

LUDOVIC BALLOUARD HALF TIME

Introduced in 2012 by the independent watchmaker Ludovic Ballouard, HALF TIME is an unusual haute-horlogerie timepiece with a unique, intricate, patented complication; it carries the same philosophy as the UPSIDE DOWN, the award winning timepiece created in 2010 by the watchmaker himself.

The HALF TIME has a most unusual way of reading the time. Ludovic Ballouard has endowed his new creation with a patented mechanism of rotating disks which move on the same plane as the dial.
All the hour indexes are divided in two; therefore unreadable… all except the one showing the current hour. The rotation of two disks « reconstitutes » each index, allowing time to be read. The watch therefore carries no hour hands. A retrograde hand, set on a half-circle at 6 o’clock indicates the minutes in a classical manner.

The disks, placed on the same plane as the dial, cannot be distinguished by the naked eye, thus giving the illusion of a unique, plane, unmoving surface… although it is really in perpetual movement. As with the UPSIDE DOWN, the rotation of these disks is instantaneous, rendering the magical moment when the movement reconstitutes each mysterious cipher into a most readable Roman figure quite stunning.

About Tazio Nuvolari Collection
This collection is dedicated to to a man who became a legend: Tazio Nuvolari, the greatest car racing myth of all times. “Tazio Nuvolari” is a mechanical automatic  winding  chronograph,  water-resistant,  with  screw-in  crown,  sapphire  glass  and  black  dial.

The special pearl-finish of the caseback, secured by screws, and of the bezel, drew inspiration from the vintage racing car instrument panels. The engraving of the driver’s signature, and the stylised image of the mascot tortoise – given to the great Nivolaby Gabriele D’Annunzio, with the dedication
“To the fastest driver in the world, the slowest animal” – make these chronographs absolutely unique.

The caseback of the “Gold Car Collection” models is transparent to reveal the beauty of the movement with its high-grade embellishments and the rotor with its equally as subtle engravings depicting a stylised 18 ct. gold replica of that Alfa Romeo Tipo 12/C which the great Flying Mantovanian used to drive to his impressive victories. The collection also boasts particular  éditions spéciales

In 2012, Eberhard & Co. celebrated the 120th anniversary of the birth of Tazio Nuvolari with the “Tazio Nuvolari Data” model, an automatic mechanical chronograph dressed in a 43 mm steel case. The black dial featuring “perlée” finish has two counters at 12 and 6 o’clock, for minutes and hours respectively; the latter also features the date. The “Tazio Nuvolari Data” special edition is embellished with the particular bezel with 74 black diamonds (1.11 ct.).

The “Mouvement Gravé” edition features a precious hand engraving on the movement and on the 21 ct. gold rotor, available upon request on some models in the “Tazio Nuvolari” collection. Among the “Tazio Nuvolari Gold Car Collection” models, whose name  is  an  instant  reminder  of  the  Alfa  Romeo  represented in masterly fashion on their rotors, an elegant 18 ct. gold version is available only to order.

“Tazio Nuvolari Grand Prix TN” in gold revives the essence of sporting passion, enhanced with the extraordinary class of precious metal. Sapphire glass and water-resistance to 3 atmospheres round off  an  exclusive  chronograph  in  a  limited  series  of  123  pieces. An imposing 43-millimetre case, whose lines are embellished with a subtle, warm interplay of colour combinations, making it unique.

The steel version of “Tazio Nuvolari Grand Prix TN” has the strong, unique personality of a great champion. A robust case of ample proportions (43 mm diameter), water-resistant up to 3 atmospheres, sapphire glass, a black ceramic bezel and distinctive appearance: a gutsy, modern chronograph in a limited series of 999 pieces, to celebrate the wish to win and to challenge time.

This version of the “Tazio Nuvolari Grand Prix TN” combines refinement with a deep sporty spirit. An automatic, mechanical chronograph, water-resistant to 3 atmospheres, with an imposing steel case (Ø 43 mm), characterised by the white colour of the ceramic bezel, the details on the dial, the engravings on the case back and the original strap with red stitching. 999 pieces with a winning personality.

The “Tazio Nuvolari – Vanderbilt Cup” collection is dedicated to one of the most exciting and renowned race from Nuvolari, won on Long Island in America in 1936. Mechanical automatic winding chronograph, “Tazio Nuvolari – Vanderbilt Cup” also features significant technical details from the past but revised in accordance with modern criteria. The crown features a coaxial pushbutton recalling the chronographs from the ‘30s. The case has a hinged double caseback that can be opened with a special vertical sliding pushbutton. On the internal part of the back cover are depicted a stylised reproduction of Nuvolari’s legendary tortoise, the driver’s initials and there is also space to apply an individual dedication. The finely machined movement is revealed through a sapphire glass with Tazio Nuvolari’s signature.

Hermès - Nantucket Silver ᶧ & Cape Cod Tonneau Silver ᶧ

The Cape Cod line, a pillar of the Maison Hermès since 1991, reinvents itself this year in a stylish and elegant manner, while preserving its rounded curves and distinctive lugs. The entire collection now features a redesigned dial and an interchangeable strap, while the case of the Tonneau and Nantucket models is available in Silver ᶧ – an unusual silver alloy based on a composition exclusive to Hermès and which lastingly preserves the inimitable radiance of the precious metal.

The delicately curved case shape of the Cape Cod models echoes one of the iconic Hermès jewellery creations that is also inspired by the maritime world: the Anchor Chain bracelet.

The Cape Cod peninsula dappled with sunlight is pervaded by a distinctive atmosphere, a unique luminosity that is at once white, dazzling and filled with warmth, like the sun shimmering on silver. Hermès is renewing its ties with this precious metal in its watch creations, turning alchemist by offering its very own silver composition. This new alloy features a larger proportion of silver than the conventional 925 alloy and was specially developed to ensure that silver maintains its characteristic glow over the years.

While playing the transformation game with a range of subtle touches, the Cape Cod models remain resolutely timeless.

Nantucket Silverᶧ
The slender and graceful Nantucket watch wraps its elegant lines smoothly around the wrist, highlighting the shimmering reflections and distinctive radiance of the Silver alloy now replacing its initial 925 silver. Delicately curved to ensure perfect comfort, non-set or gem-set according to the model, its case inspired by an anchor-chain link is moored to the wrist by interchangeable leather straps underscoring the precious nature of this creation.

Carl F. Bucherer PATRAVI AutoDate TwoTone

With the Patravi AutoDate TwoTone Carl F. Bucherer presents mechanical reliability in a sophisticated case made of steel and 18 K rose gold. And from the aesthetic viewpoint also, this timepiece from the Lucerne-based watch Manufacture is the perfect faithful companion for every occasion: thanks to its bicolor exterior, the Patravi AutoDate TwoTone can be combined with any precious metal, and looks right both with sporty daywear and with elegant evening outfits.

The Patravi range from the Swiss Manufacture brand Carl F. Bucherer stands for the skilful combination of technical innovation and authentic design. This combination is also to be found in the Patravi AutoDate TwoTone, which sets new design trends within this family of watches.
The Patravi AutoDate TwoTone, which houses the automatic movement CFB 1950 (case diameter 38 mm) or CFB 1963 (case diameter 27 mm), provides the time and the date at a glance. This reduction to the basic display is continued in the design of the dial: elements that are typical for the Patravi range, such as classic bar index marks and gold-coloredskeleton hands, present the time clearly and accurately. The circular case in stainless steel and 18 K rose gold forms a brilliant frame for the matt white dial –and naturally the case is also available set with diamonds if required.

A watch that can be stylishly combined with any precious metal: the Patravi AutoDate TwoTone harmonizes perfectly with jewellery in all colours of gold and platinum, making it a practical universal accessory. The sophisticated combination of stainless steel and 18 K rose gold is also found in the bracelet, giving the Patravi AutoDate TwoTone a special unity of style – a quality that will ensure that the wearer will dazzle on every occasion.

Carl F. Bucherer - Adamavi Collection

Introduced in 2011, the Adamavi range is a stunning ladies’ watch collection that stands for the pleasure provided by timeless design and for a unique philosophy: the striving to preserve things of proven value.

Since it was founded over 120 years ago, the Bucherer enterprise has remained in the sole possession of the family of the founder, Carl Friedrich Bucherer. As a result of this continuity the Carl F. Bucherer watch brand, which has been independent since 2001, has become a quality brand whose success is based on a valuable store of experience in the field of mechanical watchmaking and the art of jewellery. Although Carl F. Bucherer stands for a constant drive for innovation and a high degree of technical development, it is of great importance to the brand that proven technologies and design elements should be carried over into the future.
The principle of holding on to the proven values of the past is embodied in the classic appearance of the watches in the Adamavi family. The very name Adamavi stands for a feeling that these watches trigger in the wearer: translated from the Latin, Adamavi literally means “to come to love something” or “to take pleasure in something”. Because all the models in the range are characterized by timeless simplicity and mechanical reliability, they are more than just timepieces.
They are true companions, whose visual appeal will outlast the short-lived trends of our present time, conferring an aura of reliability and continuity upon their owners.
With their understated and enduring design, watches bearing the name of Adamavi can be worn on any occasion. These puristic timepieces have their own aesthetic continuity, and therefore represent real value that is certain and timeless.
One striking model in the Adamavi family is the Adamavi Pavé, perfectly executed in 18 K rose gold. The dial and bezel are set with sparkling diamonds, arranged in circles from the center outwards. In combination with the gold-colored baton markers, they suggest a shimmering sun whose radiant power lasts forever.

TAG Heuer inaugurates their newest flagship boutique at prestigious Fifth Avenue, New York

TAG Heuer brand ambassador and Hollywood icon Cameron Diaz was among the entertainment, fashion and media elite who came out to celebrate TAG Heuer’s newest flagship boutique at an exclusive cocktail party hosted last night by the luxury Swiss watch brand.
The celebration began with an invitation-only gathering at the brand’s freestanding boutique – located on New York’s prestigious Fifth Avenue where key media partners had the opportunity to preview the boutiques exclusive timepiece collections and meet and greet with TAG Heuer’s Global CEO and President, Stephane Linder and Cameron Diaz. The fete continued with a cocktail reception at the esteemed Museum of Modern Art across the street from the boutique.

Throughout their time at the boutique, guests had the opportunity to admire an original painting of brand ambassador Steve McQueen that is prominently displayed in the library that also houses TAG Heuer’s renowned historical timepieces.  During the cocktail function, guests enjoyed scientifically engineered cocktails crafted by Minetta mixologists while contortionist dancers performed in an artful manner throughout the evening.
With three prestige destinations in Paris and new flagships set to open in London, Milan, Madrid, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Macau, Singapore and Beijing, TAG Heuer is making waves in retail. Its chronographs and watches are the fastest and most precise ever made, and are some of the most sought-after items in luxury retail.
Among these is the famous CARRERA, the motor-sports inspired prestige collection that has never ceased reinventing itself since its first appearance in 1963, and whose yearlong birthday celebrations have lit up capitals across Asia, North America and Europe.

VULCAIN 50s Presidents’ Enamel “Pegausus” Collection (In the Sky & On the Mountain - Grand Feu Cloisonné Enamel) Limited Edition

To mark the grand opening of the first Vulcain Monoboutique in Beijing and to salute the Chinese 2014 Year of Horse, the Manufacture Vulcain enriches its enamel collection by presenting its new 50s Presidents’ “Pegasus” model. This outstanding new timepiece features a universal symbol of wisdom and knowledge to celebrate Vulcain’s time-honoured watchmaking expertise.
Pegasus is one of the best-known mythological creatures in Greek mythology. He is a winged divine stallion usually depicted as pure white in colour. Greco-Roman poets wrote about his ascent to heaven after his birth and his obedience to Zeus, king of the gods.He was captured by the Greek hero Bellerophon near the Perene fountain with the help of Athena and Poseidon. Pegasus allowed the hero to ride him to defeat a monster, the Chimera, before accomplishing many other exploits. Because of his faithful service to Zeus, he was rewarded by being transformed into the constellation Pegasus and placed up in the sky.

The symbolism of Pegasus has varied through the ages. An emblem of wisdom and especially of fame from the Middle Ages until the Renaissance, he became a symbol of poetry and the creator of sources from which the poets draw inspiration, particularly in the 19th century. Pegasus is the subject of a very rich iconography, especially expressed in ancient Greek pottery and paintings, as well as Renaissance sculptures.
On the Mountain and In the Sky
Pegasus was raised by the Muses at Mount Helicon, where he was taken by the goddess Athena. In his excitement for being given to these women, Pegasus struck the side of the mountain with his hooves and his marks caused springs to turn into flowing fountains of inspiration. Those springs became sacred to the Muses who loved and respected the “flying horse”. From then on, wherever the winged horse struck the earth with his hooves, an inspiring spring burst forth. After flying back to heaven, Pegasus lived on Mt Olympus until his last day and served Zeus with his thunder and lightning magic powers.
Two exceptional timepieces from Manufacture Vulcain symbolises the story of Pegasus. Available in limited editions of 18 pieces of each model - Pegasus in the Sky & Pegasus on the Mountain – this collection employs century old art enamelling technique. These models, available in 18 carat pink gold,  are powered with the legendary cricket calibre developed by the manufacture.

Grand Feu Cloisonné Enamel
Cloisonné is an enamelling technique in which the outline of the dial design is produced either on the dial itself, or on paper. Extremely fine strips of gold wire measuring only 0.07 mm wide are hand bent and applied to the outline using two pliers. The individual cells that give the image detail, dimension and nuance are also formed by gold wire and placed within the outline.
Colours are then picked out for each cell in order to create the cloistered or partitioned effect. Five layers of enamel are applied to the cloisonné dial. This meant that a cloisonné dial has all coloured cells filled in and fired in the kiln for a total of five to seven times before it is ready to be polished.
These multiple levels of colour create the sense of depth and three dimensions that make the enamel dials come to life. Grand Feu enamelling is one of the most difficult techniques employed in the art of decorating watches, and also offers the greatest durability.

The master artisan does not paint the motif directly on the watch, but instead applies different enamels on the dial.
The enameller then fires his piece of work several times to  enable the motif and colours to appear gradually. Grand Feu enamelling creates an unalterable and refined decoration. 50s Presidents’ Pegasus - a Symbole of Wisdom

First Alarm Wristwatch
Since the start of the 20th century, technicians had been seeking to create an alarm watch, a quest that raised the difficult and apparently insoluble problem of housing an alarm mechanism within the limited space of a normal-sized wristwatch. All attempts made up until then – a bell, an easel comprising the acoustic organs, and even a claw gently scratching the wearer’s wrist – had yielded disappointing results. The Manufacture Vulcain was to have the honor of giving Swiss watchmaking the first alarm wristwatch that truly rang out as loudly as a large alarm clock, and of which the strident chirping was as insistent as that of a cricket – hence the name.

The Manufacture Vulcain
Renowned for its iconic models and its unique mechanical movements, the Manufacture Vulcain has a place all its own within the world of Fine Watchmaking.

Active since 1858 in the making of exceptional watches, the company now located in a mansion in Le Locle, a cradle of Swiss watchmaking has constantly produced timepieces meeting the diverse requirements of the passing eras. Innovating in order to offer products worthy of the future; exploring Vulcain’s rich history in order to perpetuate its expertise and reveal its original character: such are the principles governing the daily work of the master-watchmakers exercising their skills within the Manufacture. In addition to the fabled Cricket alarm caliber that continues to beat at the heart of the brand’s iconic models, the Manufacture has successfully established itself by offering legendary models bound up with the fabulous history of Vulcain. The brand continues to forge its exemplary foundation around its two pillars and their undeniable evocative power.

Ulysse Nardin Perpetual Manufacture

Crafted in celebration of infinity, the new Perpetual Manufacture is powered by the incredible Caliber UN-32, a movement that features the most advanced perpetual calendar in the history of watchmaking. Allowing the date to be adjusted both forward and backward, this mechanical gem naturally accommodates the ebb and flow of time – in perpetuity. As a constant reminder, the dial is stamped with the symbol “∞”, to watch over this emblematic limited-edition piece.
The perpetual calendar is a highly sophisticated mechanism that takes into account not only the months with 30 and 31 days, but also the 28 days of February and the return of 29 February every four years. This means it possesses a mechanical memory of 1,461 days. The first time the Perpetual Manufacture will require manual adjustment will be in 2100, which would normally be a leap year but is an exception in the Gregorian calendar.
As well as the day, date, month and year indications, which can be adjusted easily by turning the crown in either direction, the Caliber UN-32 in this exceptional watch also offers a second time zone. The hour hand can be advanced or moved back by one or more positions simply by using the dedicated “+” and “-” push-pieces at 4 and 8 o’clock. The height of mechanical sophistication, the calendar functions synchronize automatically when the hour hand is changed. And the GMT hand, picked out with a bold red arrow, can be used to indicate either the original time or a second time zone.
A worthy heir to the legendary GMT+/-Perpetual, the Perpetual Manufacture showcases a white ocean of infinite depth in the guise of a dial. While ensuring perfect readability, the openwork hour and minute hands add a delicate, light touch that characterizes truly timeless watches, while the GMT hand hovers over the flange marked with 24 hours.
And to lend greater exclusivity to an already exceptional timepiece, the 43 mm case with its timeless design reveals a plate inscribed with the serial number on its side at 9 o’clock, making each piece totally unique. Just 250 watches in red gold and 250 in platinum will be made.

Techné – Pair Watch (Harrier 375 & Merlin 249), Valentine's Day 2014 Edition

For Valentine's Day 2014, Techné is releasing a Pair Watch bundled with 4 British military nylon straps. Machine-washable, durable, tear-proof and extremely comfortable in moist climates, the "one size fits all" nylon strap is sold in an assortment of 4 colours, one for each of the ancient Greek concepts of Love: spiritual, physical, mental and familial (agápe, érōs, philía, storgē).

The matching models are the 38 mm Merlin 249, which comes with a domed hardened mineral crystal, and the 41 mm Harrier 375, which comes with a flat sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown. Both timepieces feature broad luminous indexes and Arabic numerals, and their battery life spans over 3 years.
The nylon strap is based on the 1973 Defence Standard 66-13 (now 66-47) of the British Ministry of Defence. The purpose was to have a strap of "straight cross weave nylon ribbon, free from additives which may act as an irritant to the wrist under humid or extreme conditions".

The original strap had a NATO identification number which led it to be nicknamed "NATO" by watch collectors. It was only available in 20 mm, grey colour, and the loops and buckle were made out of brass and chromium-plated.

Woven in genuine Nylon 6, the 20 mm Techné version features signed loops and buckle in brushed stainless steel, and the ribbon is stitched instead of simply being welded as specified by the Defence Standard 66-13.

Christophe Claret - Poker

After the successful launch of playful and interactive Haute Horlogerie creations like 21 Blackjack (2011) and Baccara (2012), the master of complications launches Poker, the latest addition to Christophe Claret's trilogy of gaming watches inspired from the casinos.

To create this highly complicated timepiece, Christophe Claret developed a mechanism for this sophisticated card game and enclosed it within a case just 45mm in diameter. For up to three players and the house, there are an incredible number of game play possibilities.
Poker was actually to be the first of the gaming timepieces launched by Manufacture Claret. While the game seems simple to organize on a table, its watchmaking version is  an  extreme  test  and  no  technical  solution  had  been  found  until  Mr  Christophe Claret  himself  came  up  with  the  answer. While  the  first  prototype  was  working  in 2011,  it  required  two  years  to  perfect  the  intricate  complication.  Devising  the gearing  and  bringing  it  all  together  in  a  mechanical  movement  –  in  other  words, orchestrating a complete 52-card game following the rules of poker – is a real feat, one which offers Haute Horlogerie exciting new technical prospects. In total, Poker packs in 32,768 different combinations, i.e. 98,304 combinations for three players. The probabilities have been calculated so that everyone has approximately the same chances of winning.
Users  can  immerse  themselves  in  real  three-player  games  of  the  most  popular variant of poker: Texas Hold’em. As a recap of the rules, a game of Texas Hold’em starts with two closed cards being dealt to each player, i.e. visible only to the player. Five other open cards are dealt out in stages: three, known as the flop, after the first betting round; an additional card, the turn, after another betting round; and finally a last, the river. To have the best hand in Texas Hold’em poker, the player must have the best possible combination of five cards from the seven in their hand.

PCK05 , the completely  original automatic-winding in-house caliber comprises no fewer than 655 components, and features  two  mainspring  barrels  that  provide  approximately  72  hours  of  power.  Poker’s two central hands provide excellent legibility in low light conditions.
Poker is the very first timepiece that manages to replicate the game in an automaton watch.  The ease of use when playing Poker is as impressive and unexpected as its intrinsic complexity. Up to three players face each other around the watch. The first hand is dealt by means of a pusher at 9 o'clock.  This winds up a spring, which simultaneously spins four concentric discs−one of which made from sapphire − on which the cards are printed. There is no way of speculating as to the position of the discs. After a few moments the discs are immobilized at random by dampers. All the discs are mounted on ceramic or ruby bearings so they turn as freely as possible.

Once the push-piece at 9 o'clock has been pressed, the now shuffled cards are dealt in windows at 6 o'clock, 10:30 and 2:30. An ingenious mechanism of angled shutters makes them invisible to the other players. After this first betting round, the pusher at 10 o’clock reveals the flop,  i.e.  three cards  which  appear  on  the  left of  the  dial.
Another push-piece at 8 o'clock then reveals the turn, one card on the right of the dial.  Finally,  the  same  push-piece  deals  out  the  river,  also  on  the  right  of  the  dial. True  to  his  mastery  of  chiming  watches,  Christophe  Claret  equipped  Poker  with  a cathedral gong, which sounds whenever the  flop and  turn/river pushers are pressed.
The dial of Poker is entirely made and assembled within Manufacture Claret and was designed  to  offer  excellent  legibility  of  both  the  time  and  the  Poker  game.  With subtle decoration, a matte black ring, open-worked with playing cards, is overlaid on a silvered background.  Emblematic of the brand, the ruby and titanium hands – among the most expensive to make because of the complexity of machining these precious materials – are enhanced by a luminescent coating. The hour indexes are on the bezel so as not to crowd the stage.  Although the  dial  has  an  incredible 77 components,  its  balanced  harmonious  design  ensures  that  the  players  are  not distracted.  And,  in  a  final  detail  that  aficionados may  appreciate,  a  breath  of  air forming condensation on the watch sapphire reveals  a pin-up girl.
The transparent case-back provides a view of the oscillating winding rotor in the form of a roulette wheel.  This  rotor  design  is  already  an  icon  of  the  Christophe  Claret Interactive  Gaming  Complication  collection.  Once activated by one or two shaking motions, the oscillating weight turns for a few moments before stopping.  An  arrow  points  to  one  of  the  37 numbers  on  an  inner  ring.  Did your number come up by chance? If so, it may have been thanks to a special key opposite a green emerald set on the case-back. This personalization is much appreciated by those who believe in their lucky number.
Poker is available in four versions: two-tone, black PVD-treated grade 5 titanium and white  gold;  two-tone,  black  PVD-treated  grade  5  titanium  and  red  gold; monochrome,  black  PVD-treated  grade  5  titanium,  with  blue  spinel  hands;  and monochrome,  black  PVD-treated  grade  5  titanium  with red  ruby  hands.  Poker is covered by a worldwide patent. Each case material is limited to just 20 pieces.
