Patek Philippe Launches Online ‘Global Generations’ Film

As of today enthusiasts and connoisseurs of the independent, family-owned watch company Patek Philippe are being offered an insight into its elegant collection with an innovative brand film on the Patek Philippe website.

Conceived and executed by Leagas Delaney in London, the film is available online and is being broadcasted on television in various markets. The film depicts a series of beautiful stories capturing the bond between mother/daughter and father/son in various cities around the world. The entry point to the online film, to be found on the Patek

Philippe website features the Patek Philippe World Time (Ref. 5130P). Audiences are able to select a time zone and then, based on their selection, the film will start from their chosen city. To date, the film features London, Geneva, Shanghai, Tokyo and New York with the intention of adding other cities in the future.

In Tokyo for example, a mother and her daughter are seen out together in the afternoon choosing fabric for the daughter’s wedding dress. This is beautifully contrasted by the early morning scene in London where a father is taking his son to school - stories that transcend geographies and stand the test of time.

As well as emphasizing the emotion of the brand and the bond between generations, the online film also gives audiences a chance to get closer to the watch detail of each of the different pieces featured. By pausing the film, a 360 degree rotation function enables viewers to enjoy the featured timepieces in detail.

In keeping with the recently introduced print concepts, Patek Philippe now unites both its Men’s and Ladies’ campaigns under the same global, iconic headline: “You never actually own a Patek Philippe, you merely look after it for the next generation”. This film is designed to represent the ‘globality’ of the Generations campaign and its relevance across different cultures around the world.
