Eterna Grace Open Art

With the Grace Open Art, Eterna demonstrates once again the importance it attaches to this long tradition. This exclusive ladies' model is a successful combination of feminine beauty and mechanical sophistication in a timepiece of sublime artistry.

Eterna went its own way with the creation of fine ladies' watches from an early stage. From the early 20th century, the brand based in Grenchen, Solothurn, began producing jewellery watches to grace the wrists of its demanding clientele. These models included the slimmest, series-produced baguette watch and the Eterna Matic Golden Heart with the world's smallest automatic movement and a solid gold rotor.
In 2015, with the Grace Open Art, Eterna presents the latest creations from its own workshops: timepieces that take their place in this long tradition. Its name alone suggests that this creation is a genuine work of art and a perfect example of Swiss watchmaking at its best. The care and effort distilled into its design and production can be seen and felt in every single detail. The value of this precious timepiece is obvious at first glance. But its inner qualities too are revealed by a circular aperture in the dial, which is made either of shimmering white or black mother-of-pearl.
This provides a view of the regular oscillations of the balance, the mechanism that determines the accuracy of the automatic movement. A wave-like swathe of diamonds, sparkling like pure, life-giving water, emanates from the window and describes a gently contoured path across the dial. In doing so, it subtly expresses the link between the Grace Open Art's mechanical sophistication and glamorously feminine style. Indices, numerals and other design elements have been consciously omitted to guarantee the undivided attention this artistic interpretation deserves.
Elegant Dauphine hands leisurely complete their revolutions of the dial, counting off the passage of treasured minutes and hours. The frame for this perfect work of art takes the form of an exquisite bezel set with 57 Top Wesselton diamonds. The case itself, in yellow or white gold, is the soul of discretion and features slender crosspieces that serve as lugs. A fine satin wristband perfectly rounds off the Grace Open Art in all its resplendent glamour.
