Liu Jo Luxury Graduation Award on accessible luxury awarded at the Quirinal Palace, Rome

The President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, the Chairman of the Leonardo Committee Luisa Todini, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda, the President of the Institute for Foreign Trade Riccardo Monti and the CEO of Nardelli Luxury and Creative Director of Liu Jo Luxury Bruno Nardelli awarded the Liu Jo Luxury Graduation Award at the award ceremony for the Leonardo Prizes, held in Rome at the seat of the Presidency of the Italian Republic.

The aim of the first “Liu Jo Luxury Award” is to award young students for research that takes into account changes in the fashion market and takes a deeper look into consumer styles and needs of the accessible luxury and fast fashion clientele, identifying the levers of communication and marketing that enable companies to remain competitive on the market and meet the demands of consumers in this sector.
This year Liu Jo Luxury - a brand created in 2006 out of the partnership between the LIU JO clothing company and Nardelli Luxury, a leading national player in the jewellery sector – decided to join the Graduation Awards initiative promoted by the Leonardo Committee and set up to award young graduates who have worked on theses regarding topics of important relevance for the success of the “Made in Italy”.

The Leonardo Committee, which is currently chaired by Luisa Todini, came into being in 1993, starting from a common effort on the part of Senator Sergio Pininfarina and Senator Gianni Agnelli, of Confindustria (the Confederation of Italian Industry), ICE (the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade), and a group of entrepreneurs, with the objective of promoting Italy as a national system through a variety of initiatives aimed at bringing to the forefront its qualities of entrepreneurship, artistic creativity, refinement and cultural attributes reflected in its products and lifestyle. The Graduation Awards constitute an initiative that the Leonardo Committee has promoted since 1997 thanks to the support provided by its members and over time this initiative has made it possible to award over 200 brilliant graduates from as many university institutes throughout the nation.

The Liu Jo Luxury Award joins other awards concerning the fashion world including Corneliani S.p.A., Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana, Consorzio Orafo Il Tarì and those focused on other sectors, including Bonfiglioli Riduttori, Fondazione Bracco, Fondazione Manlio Masi, Gestore dei Servizi Energetici - G.S.E. Perini Navi S.p.A. and Simest S.p.A.
