Porsche Design receives Red Dot Award for Timepiece No. 1

The Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 was awarded with the international. In addition to receiving the award for the first timepiece that Porsche Design developed completely in-house, five further Porsche Design products received the prestigious seal of quality for excellent design: the P'9983 smartphone from Blackberry, the Agnodice women's handbag, the Beverly Hills moccasin, the Roadster 3.0 trolley and the P'7350 kitchen from Poggenpohl.
The Red Dot Award takes place since 1954 and is one of the most distinguished design competitions worldwide. The jury of annually elected renowned specialists and international design experts ensures that only products of the highest quality receive the award. Around 2000 companies from 56 different countries submitted more than 4900 designs for this year's Red Dot Award. The award ceremony will take place on June 29, 2015 in Essen, Germany.

The expert jury was convinced by characteristics such as the high-quality design, craftsmanship, materials used and high level of innovation displayed by the Porsche Design products. Since the foundation of the Porsche Design brand in 1972, the company has already won more than 190 national and international awards.

The Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 automatic chronograph is the first watch from the luxury brand developed entirely in-house and was designed based on the same principles used by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1972 for the very first Porsche Design timepiece –the legendary Chronograph I.
