Backes & Strauss and English National Ballet introduce three new ambassadors

The world’s oldest diamond company Backes & Strauss, and the world-class ballet company, English National Ballet, are delighted to announce the continuation of their partnership as they introduce Shiori Kase, Laurretta  Summerscales, and Jinhao Zhang as brand ambassadors.

Now entering its third year, the collaboration between the two iconic companies mark the beginning of a new era as Tamara Rojo, Artistic Director of English National Ballet, passes the title of brand ambassador over to the  three rising talents within the Company.
Working with outstanding ballet dancers has remained at the heart of the English National Ballet since the founding of the company by Alicia Markova, Anton Dolin, and Julian Braunsweg in 1950. Under Tamara Rojo’s guidance, Shiori Kase, Laurretta Summerscales, and Jinhao Zhang are sparkling examples of how the company is nurturing world-class talent, encouraging new interpretations of iconic ballet and the creation of captivating new productions.

First Soloist, Shiori Kase began dancing in her native Tokyo before moving to the UK and joining English National Ballet in 2009. She will appear during the 2015/2016 season in major productions such as Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, and Swan Lake. Laurretta Summerscales was promoted to First Soloist in 2013 after joining the company in 2009. She has received many accolades during her career, having made her debut with the leading role of Myrtha, Queen of the Willis in Giselle.

Jinhao Zhang is one of the newest additions to the company. His phenomenal talent and contemporary choreography led to his win at English National Ballet’s Emerging Dancer competition in 2015.

With timepieces taking inspiration from the architecture of John Nash and 19th century London, Backes &Strauss’ intricate watches are the essence of traditional excellence executed in contemporary compositions. Through their renewed collaboration and shared values, both brands continue to strengthen their unique consumer experiences in the UK and internationally.
