School for visually impaired in Hong Kong to receive all proceeds from IWC Schaffhausen Watch auction

At Sotheby’s Fine Timepieces auction held on 29 Nov 2015 in Hong Kong, a customized chronograph from luxury Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen was sold. The Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Edition “Le Petit Prince” went under the hammer for HKD 130,000. All the proceeds from the sale will benefit IWC’s longstanding partner Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation. The Foundation will use the proceeds to support Ebenezer School, the one and only non-profit organisation in Hong Kong that provides education and training for the visually impaired in the city.

The Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW371807) combines highly sophisticated functions designed for flying with a captivating display recounting the beloved tale of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This luxury watch features a mechanical 79420-calibre chronograph movement and a split-seconds mechanism. One unique feature is the red jumping star as the day display in the centre of the midnight blue dial.
Whilst being the only timepiece with this red star, the watch is part of a limited edition of 1000 pieces. Each day of the week, this captivating day display lights up a different star in red. The stars symbolize the seven planets visited by the little prince on his journey through the universe. The seven stars are also decoratively engraved on the back of the watch, along with the names of the seven inhabitants the little prince encounters: the king, the vain man, the drunkard, the businessman, the lamplighter, the geographer and finally the rose. The reverse side of the case also features a portrait of the prince himself, allowing the wearer to know which realm the little boy is visiting at any given moment.IWC Schaffhausen strengthens its long-term commitment by donating all the proceeds to the charitable Antoine Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation to globally promote the spirit and humanist values of the great French writer and aviator.

Ebenezer School is the one and only non-profit organisation in Hong Kong that provides education and training for the visually impaired in the city. In support, the school partners with other agencies to offer training and internship programs to aid students’ career development upon graduation. Those attending the school gain invaluable skills for professional environment as well as comprehensive education, giving them vital tools and access to a better future.

Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has once again been inspired to produce a special edition by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s little prince. The first such model dates back to 2013, when the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW502802) and the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW326506) were launched in honour of the 70th anniversary of this world-famous story. With these, IWC paid tribute to one of the best-selling books in literary history, written by legendary writer, pilot and adventurer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Since 2006, the company has maintained a cordial partnership with Saint-Exupéry’s heirs and their charitable organization, the Antoine de SaintExupéry Youth Foundation.

One unique example of the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW502801) in platinum was auctioned by Sotheby’s in Geneva. IWC presented the Foundation with the record sum of CHF 173,000 to help finance the building of a school with library in Cambodia. The series of special limited editions of “Le Petit Prince” continued in 2014 with the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW377706) and the Big Pilot’s Watch Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW500908). Only recently, brand ambassador Adriana Lima opened a new library in the Hospital Pequeno Príncipe, a children’s hospital in Curitiba, Brazil. The library was made possible by the proceeds of an auction of a Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “The Last Flight” in platinum (Ref. IW388005), with which IWC honoured the great writer’s last flight.

RJ-Romain Jerome Mario Bros. Limited Edition

In honor of the Super Mario Bros. video game’s 30th anniversary, RJ-Romain Jerome is presenting a special edition model from its Generational Icons collection in association with Nintendo.

In a 46mm case RJ has recreated the essence of the original Super Mario Bros. game from 1985. Nintendo’s legendary character – Mario – is exceptionally dressed in his recognisable red shirt and blue overalls with his famous jump and iconic mushroom. These most symbolic elements of the game are eye-catchingly depicted on the dial and are all captured in the visual style that captivated a generation. The Super Mario Bros. timepiece is limited to 85 pieces to echo 1985, the year the game launched.

The new collaboration between RJ-Romain Jerome and Nintendo is a tribute to this genre-defining video game of the 8-bit era, the first of its kind. This collection, which allowed the Swiss Maison to express its unlimited creativity by mixing traditional know-how with playfulness, is also a true expression of avant-gardism watchmaking.
The worldwide pioneer in the creation of interactive entertainment, Nintendo Co., Ltd., of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its Wii U™ and Wii™ home consoles, Nintendo 3DS™ and Nintendo DS™ family of portable systems. Since 1983, when it launched the Nintendo Entertainment System™, Nintendo has sold more than 4.3 billion video games and more than 686 million hardware units globally, including the current-generation Wii U, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS family of systems including New Nintendo 3DS™, New Nintendo 3DS XL™, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL™, Nintendo 2DS™, as well as Nintendo DS™, Nintendo DSi™, Nintendo DSi XL™, Game Boy™, Game Boy Advance™, Super NES™, Nintendo 64™ and Nintendo GameCube™ systems. It has also created industry icons that have become well-known, household names such as Mario™, Donkey Kong™, Metroid™, Zelda™ and Pokémon™. A wholly owned subsidiary, Nintendo of Europe, based in Germany, was established in 1990 and serves as headquarters for Nintendo’s operations in Europe.

As part of the Games collection the Super Mario Bros. timepiece is presented in the brand’s distinctive Moon Invader case, now in titanium grade 5 with a black PVD-coating. The lugs are fitted with safety screws and integrated ball-and-socket joints, in Teflon coating, for optimal wrist adjustment. And on the integrated case back, the Super Mario Bros. medallion cohabits with the grainy-textured stellar-patterned. At the time, the video game was graphically advanced as it was difficult to obtain such a detailed representation of the Super Mario Bros. character; and today it was equally challenging to reproduce the blurred effect of the pixels.

In order to accentuate the pixelation with perfect geometrical forms, the dial was built on a complex three layered plate with different finishes, either bead-blasted or drawn out for both the RJ monogram and the ground setting, which offers an overall 3D effect.

Stemming from craftsmanship, each applique, representing the hero and the setting, was hand-painted in cold enamel and then delicately set on the dial to add even more perspective to the ensemble.

Piaget Altiplano Cloisonné Enamel ‘Year of Monkey’ Edition

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, piaget unveils a special limited edition Altiplano watch featuring a cloisonné enamel dial that portraits monkey, the ninth sign of the Chinese zodiac.

Every year since 2012, Piaget has marked the arrival of the Chinese New Year with its “Art & Excellence” collection staging that year’s zodiac sign, hand-crafted in the great Grand Feu cloisonné enamelling tradition. From the mythical dragon to the regal stallion, the undulating snake to the free-spirited goat, each symbol is re-imagined within the watch’s ultra-thin case, as the dial becomes a magnificent stage set for a virtuoso performance of the most elaborate decorative arts.

Pairing the traditions of fine watchmaking with its unrelenting passion for artistry, Piaget pushes the boundaries of creativity, unleashing the talent of its craft masters and artisans, and challenging them to apply their ancestral techniques to the creation of distinctive pieces. World-renowned master enameller Anita Porchet has lent her skills to bring each Chinese zodiac sign to life in her own exceptional interpretation, turning the ultra-thin Altiplano watch into a refined work of art. One of the few artisans to master every single enamelling technique, Anita Porchet uses cloisonné for the “Art & Excellence” collection to better isolate the colours and ensure an optimally clear vision of the grey shading. By partitioning the enamel using cloisons, the refinement of the artwork is enhanced, giving the seated monkey its delicate glistening coat of fur as it proudly holds a peach, symbol of immortality, up against a soft sky-like background.
The patience and attention required at every stage of the process makes enamelling an art of perfection. First, the artisan forms the motif with hollow partitions created with strips of gold, then crushes and mixes the pigments by hand before delicately applying the colours inside the partitions with a fine brush. The artistic virtuosity of the piece comes from the artist’s ability to achieve the subtlest shades of grey, graded from the more intense to the lighter, with a succession of flawless applications. In accordance with the tradition of grand feu enamels, the successive firing of the piece in the kiln at over 800°Cgives the enamel its ethereal glow, and guarantees the longevity of the masterpiece.

Charming yet mischievous, the monkey is portrayed in the signature style of the collection defined by a vivid combination of black and white, as well as the countless details that give the motif life-like qualities. Adding fire and brilliance to a spectacular celebration of the Chinese New Year, the purity and vibrancy of the enamel work is enhanced by Piaget’s gem-setting expertise with the 18-carat white gold case set with 78 brilliant-cut diamonds. The intricate dial conceals a Piaget 430P hand-wound mechanical manufacture movement.

The Altiplano “Art & Excellence” from the Chinese Zodiac collection is limited to just 38 pieces available exclusively in Piaget Boutiques.

JP Watch Design - Bearing Collection

Australia based contemporary watch brand JP WATCH DESIGN Launches ‘The Bearing’ Collection in partnership with World Land Trust & Water Collective.

JP WATCH DESIGN was established earlier this year with the purpose to help preserve the world we live in. Sharing the desire to create a sustainable future, along with a love for fashionable timepieces, the three founders have combined their passions to create a stylish, modern watch. Their first collection, entitled 'The Bearing’, was designed in Australia with quality in mind. The watch is currently available on Kickstarter in four colour variations and utilises locally sourced kangaroo leather for the watchbands.
The founders of the business (Jesse, Chris and Johanna) have known each other since their University days and each bring unique qualities to the company. They possess distinct career backgrounds in numerous different fields. Originally from different countries, the directors now reside on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
The company’s first model, ‘THE BEARING’, is born from the nautical reference of movement relative to another location. The company’s interpretation of the bearing is to be constantly moving in a forward direction – a concept at the core of our business ethos.

A custom kangaroo watch band accompanies each Bearing timepiece. These ethically sourced straps are a by-product of strict government population control programs. The tanning technique employed uses a sustainable and natural vegetable tan that has been utilised for thousands of years. The clasp is stainless steel, and is available in silver or gold.
It’s taken almost year for JP Watch Design to reach their launch, but their ambitions don’t stop there. They’re hoping to expand ‘The Bearing’ collection in the future to include other colour variations and a women’s range with a more petite, feminine look. Additionally, they have several designs in development at their workshop. By donating 15% of all sales to conservation causes worldwide, they are hoping to be able to contribute to global preservation efforts for years to come.
JP WATCH DESIGN has announced their partnership with World Land Trust & Water Collective to provide a percentage of their watch sales upon the completion of their Kickstarter. The timepiece company is collaborating with both organisations as they work tirelessly towards advancing the needs of global conservation efforts.
World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity, which protects the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats acre by acre. Since its foundation in 1989, WLT has funded partner organisations around the world to create reserves, and give permanent protection to habitats and wildlife. World Land Trust will use the funds donated by JP Watch Design to purchase and protect 5 acres of critically threatened tropical forest as part of its ‘Buy an Acre’ programme where land can be purchased for around £100 an acre, currently in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico.
Water Collective is an international non-profit that secures life-lasting clean water for rural communities in Africa and India. The organization was founded in 2011 to resolve the shortcomings of clean water access in the developing world, where 40% of water points are not working at any given time. JP Watch Design will be providing a percentage of its watch purchases to advance the needs of Water Collective, and assist them with bringing clean water to the communities they assist.
JP Watch Design will also be providing a percentage of purchase proceeds to Oceana. Oceana was established in 2001 by a group of leading foundations — The Pew Charitable Trusts, Oak Foundation, Marisla Foundation (formerly Homeland Foundation), and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. In 1999, these foundations commissioned a study and discovered that less than 0.5 percent of all resources spent by environmental non-profit groups in the United States went to ocean advocacy. No organization was working exclusively to protect and restore the oceans on a global scale. Oceana was founded to fill the gap, and is an international organization focused solely on oceans, dedicated to achieving measurable change by conducting specific, science-based campaigns with fixed deadlines and articulated goals. While no formal agreement between Oceana is currently in place, JP Watch Design will be donating a percentage to Oceana to assist with their meritorious work.

JAQUET DROZ opens its new boutique in Shanghai

On November 12th of this year, JAQUET DROZ opened its new boutique on West Nanjing Road, a prestigious address in the heart of Shanghai. The event was marked by festivities celebrating the themes of discovery and initiation, giving Jaquet Droz the opportunity to reiterate an ambition that has remained unchanged from its beginnings: to surprise, to fascinate, and also to tell its story.

The new boutique is outfitted with elegant showcases that present the various Jaquet Droz models as veritable works of art under carefully designed lighting.  Customers are immersed in a refined space with clean lines that play on the various tones of slate, in harmony with the minimalist scenography, true to the spirit of the brand. Several illustrations on the walls highlight the different arts and crafts that represent the pure expertise of the watchmaking firm.
For the inauguration ceremony, Jaquet Droz had an artist from its Ateliers d’Art come especially to give attendees an exclusive demonstration of the infinite refinement of miniature painting on the dial.
The event was also marked by the presentation of the Grande Seconde Deadbeat, a masterpiece of watchmaking complications that has been subtly redesigned, with its seconds hand centered on the dial. Also featured at the opening was the Charming Bird, a feat of technical and artistic prowess distinguished  by its automaton in the form of a singing bird, which won an award in the "Mechanical Exception" category of the 2015 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. True to the Jaquet Droz aesthetic, these timepieces resonate with the culture of amazement and a love of tradition, two emblematic traits that unite the Swiss watchmaker and the Middle Kingdom.
The inauguration in 2015 of four new single-brand boutiques in China bears testimony to the Swiss watchmaker's desire to celebrate its long-standing ties with the Middle Kingdom.

The nine Jaquet Droz boutiques in China today are all imbued with the same spirit as their driving force: to perpetuate a shared history that spans several centuries. The dialog between the watchmaking firm and the illustrious country-continent began in the 18th century, under the initiative of Henri-Louis Jaquet-Droz, one of the firm's founders, who had the idea of establishing a workshop that would produce predominantly for the Chinese market. These frequent exchanges created close and lasting bonds between China and the brand known by its twin stars. In 1783, Jaquet Droz became the first watchmaking brand to be admitted into the grounds of the Imperial Palace, where the Emperor Qianlong and his courtiers showed fascination at the originality of his creations. Certain historic pieces are still conserved today in the Museum of the Forbidden City.

True to its heritage, the brand has successfully preserved and cultivated this exceptional relationship. With desire to strengthen and promote these privileged ties, Jaquet Droz has inaugurated four new boutiques in 2015, covering three of the country's major cities. The opening of a retail store in Beijing in May and a second location in July, along with the launch of a new location in the heart of Studio City in Macau, have sealed the beginning of a new era in the relationship between Jaquet Droz and China.

Arnold & Son TEC1 wins Middle East Premier Awards 2015 in the ‘Best Chronograph Watch’ Category

The Middle East Watch of the Year Awards is a pioneering concept initiated and implemented by Arabian Watches & Jewellery Magazine, alongside the second Salon des Grandes Complications exhibition. TEC1: Exclusive Arnold & Son mechanical movement A&S8305, tourbillon chronograph, self-winding, black guilloché dial, palladium case, diameter 45 mm © Arnold & Son

Arnold & Son TEC1, which won in the category ‘Best Chronograph Watch’, is a refined tourbillion chronograph that masterfully integrates three complexities never before combined by the brand in such an elegant rendition. A tourbillon, a column wheel chronograph and an automatic winding system deftly blend in a superb avant-garde yet classic timepiece. The TEC1 is part of the sophisticated Royal Collection, which is inspired by the timepieces created in the early part of John Arnold’s life for King George III and members of the royal court.

The sophisticated TEC1 is a worthy example of Arnold & Son’s innovative spirit, technical prowess and artistic achievement. The A&S8305 calibre is an exclusive mechanical selfwinding movement that offers hours, minutes, tourbillon and chronograph. The challenge for Arnold & Son’s Research and Development team in creating this timepiece was the integration of a high-frequency tourbillon, a chronograph and an automatic winding system in a way that is elegant and technically advanced. As such, the traditional layout of a movement with these functions has been totally discarded and all-new engineering was required for the new calibre.

Mido Belluna Heures & Minutes Decentrees (M024.444.16.031.00)

The new Belluna Heures & Minutes Décentrées asserts the excellence of Mido’s watchmaking expertise. Positioned at 10 o’clock and 4 o’clock respectively, the hours and minutes counter and the seconds counter present finishes that contrast magnificently with the silver grained dial. These two off-centred counters, combined with the scrolling date at 7 o’clock, establish the exclusive nature of the Belluna Heures & Minutes Décentrées. Fitted with an automatic movement equipped with a small-seconds complication, this model is faithful to the lines of the Belluna collection. Its timeless elegance will appeal to all those who love rare timepieces, both men and women alike.

Inaugurated in 1871 to promote the arts and science, London’s Royal Albert Hall is now one of the most renowned concert halls in the United Kingdom. Built in the inimitable Victorian style, this vast red-brick monument is comprised of several concentric circles and an impressive glass dome, which towers over the centre of this curved, resolutely rounded structure. Just like this magnificent building, the Belluna range displays perfectly harmonious forms and embodies classic, timeless elegance.
Combining tradition and modernity, the Belluna Heures & Minutes Décentrées is a unique timepiece. Its all-new design is both classic and original, while its magnificent dial offers a play on circles and curves evoking the spectacular architecture of the Royal Albert Hall. It houses two off-centred counters: the hours and minutes counter located at 10 o’clock, and the seconds counter positioned at 4 o’clock. It is this unique touch, together with the scrolling date at 7 o’clock, that gives this model its originality. The radiant silver grained dial captivates with its various finishes: the hours and minutes counter is sunray satinated, the seconds counter is snailed, and the rings surrounding them are black nickel-plated. An opening in the first quarter of the dial displays the name of the model in French – the language of watchmaking par excellence. This extraordinary dial together with the attention paid to every detail make the Belluna Heures & Minutes Décentrées an exceptional model that is emblematic of Mido’s expertise.

Fitted with an automatic movement with petite complication, the Belluna Heures & Minutes Décentrées is available in a stainless steel case measuring 40 mm in diameter, which will suit both men’s and women’s wrists. The harmonious dial is protected by a sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. Enthusiasts of fine watchmaking mechanics will endlessly admire the finely decorated automatic movement, which features an oscillating weight adorned with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo, through the transparent case back. Water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bars (50 m/165 ft), the Belluna Heures & Minutes Décentrées comes with a black crocodile look leather strap integrated into the case, and a folding clasp.

Walter Lange, the founder of Lange Uhren GmbH, receives the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany

The founder of Lange Uhren GmbH, Walter Lange, has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (First Class) by German President Joachim Gauck in recognition of his services to re-establishing Saxony's watchmaking industry. The award was presented by Stanislaw Tillich, Minister-President of the Free State of Saxony, on 25 November at Saxony's State Chancellery in Dresden.

In his laudatory speech, the Minister-President of Saxony described Walter Lange as an entrepreneur who had shown extraordinary commitment to ensuring that German precision watchmaking found a new home in Glashütte. Thanks to his outstanding contribution, the town had once again become a unique watchmaking centre, said Mr Tillich. "Walter Lange's work is one of the greatest entrepreneurial success stories since German reunification," explained the jury in their statement, adding that, when he re-established his ancestors' legacy, Lange – who is now 91 years old – did not only consider his own company, but always took into account the welfare of the watchmakers, their families and, in particular, his home town of Glashütte as well.
Following the reunification of Germany, Walter Lange seized the historic opportunity to make his vision – producing the world's best watches in Saxony – a reality and to give the people in his home region a new outlook. By founding the company and registering A.Lange & Söhne as an international brand, he initiated the renaissance of Saxony's fine watchmaking tradition that had been started by his great-grandfather in 1845.

Nowadays, the exclusive timepieces created by A. Lange & Söhne are highly coveted by connoisseurs and collectors in more than 60 countries. Thanks to Walter Lange's brave initiative and his forward-looking business strategy, his initial team of 15 has grown into a company with a staff of over 700, making it the largest employer in the town. With around a dozen watchmakers and suppliers who have now created more than 1700 jobs, the town of Glashütte is once again the centre of the German watchmaking industry.

Ulysse Nardin FreakLab Boutique Edition

Swiss luxury watch manufacture Ulysse Nardin unveils a new boutique edition of its revolutionary timepiece FreakLab, a horology marvel that was originally launched at Baselworld 2015.

Since 2001, the Freak collection has reset the world of watchmaking, raising the bar with every new engineering and design feat. It was the first watch to incorporate a silicium escapement, a diamond escapement in 2005 and the Dual Ulysse escapement the same year. Remarkable and monumental achievements, the evolutions of the Freak, with every release, amaze; and to this day, it remains an unrivaled timekeeping phenomenon.

For the first time, a version of the Freak collection showcases a re-centered balance wheel, a date function, and the breakthrough UlyChoc safety system – a new generation of shock absorbers designed, developed and produced entirely in-house.
The new limited-edition FreakLab is more unique thanks to the special materials, including blackened titanium and carbon fiber. The middle case and horns are crafted of blackened titanium; the case bezel is constructed of carbon fiber, an extremely strong material. Combined, they not only reveal a watch that is supremely durable, but also one that elicits fascination and vigor. Its allure further expounds upon the avant-garde design and milestone setting mechanism of the original FreakLab.

The user-friendly rotating bezel is freed via a safety clip at 6 o’clock. This is used to set the hours and minutes when rotated clockwise, and the date when rotated counter-clockwise. The other bezel winds the mainspring barrel, which is designed for a power reserve of more than seven days.
Proudly black and decorated with a modern and simplistic wave graphic, as well as a carbon fiber pattern – continued throughout the leather strap, this original version of the FreakLab tells a style story all its own and demonstrates a durability unlike any other.

Limited to 99 pieces, FreakLab is exclusively available at Ulysse Nardin boutiques.

ArtyA Son of Earth Butterfly Collection: Chapter II (Butterfly Delicacy, Butterfly Pasionaria & Butterfly Blue Lagoon)

In 2012, ArtyA’s CEO and designer Yvan Arpa created the Son of Earth collection – and endowed it with the most beautiful and living things the Earth has to offer. One of the first designs in the line was the Butterfly.

ArtyA is bringing some change and fresh colour to its traditional cases, with three new shades in the Son of Earth Butterfly collection:
  • Chocolate: “Butterfly Delicacy”
  • Black: “Butterfly Pasionaria”
  • Blue: “Butterfly Blue Lagoon”

ArtyA’s dial artist Dominique Arpa-Cirpka offers a new creative take each time; for these magnificent cases, the result is a high-flying artistic composition – featuring a kaleidoscope of butterfly wing fragments. These miniature works of art draw your gaze into a dream world in which beauty reigns supreme.
Butterfly Blue Lagoon
These watches don’t simply reproduce the design, style and colour of a butterfly. Under the strict control of the relevant authorities, and with their full consent, since 2010 artist D. Arpa-Cirpka successfully incorporated genuine butterfly wings within the dial. All of ArtyA’s DNA is distilled in these timepieces: unique, tailor-made watches that are highly creative – and completely unprecedented in the field of watchmaking.

The subtle butterfly wings from the Lepidoptera family are also enhanced with gold leaf. The blend of green, orange and black hues amid the gold leaf creates a unique colour balance; the interplay of the matching shades makes it look as if the gold is actually part of the wings themselves. Each tone naturally finds its place, the very particular texture of the butterfly wings reflecting light in an ever-changing way – varying with the place, the atmosphere and the time of day.
Butterfly Delicacy
ArtyA really has outdone itself with the Butterfly, creating a living watch, alive with perpetual movement. The wearer sports a timepiece that will remain discreet when concealed by a sleeve – but which comes to life when the Butterfly is exposed to the light, displaying all-new reflections each time.

Faithful to its primary desire to create “Unique Pieces”, ArtyA offers its customers customized cases and hands. This timepiece has a set of hands decorated with a large ‘A’ floating above the butterfly dial. The case – here, a traditional round ‘Classique’ shape – will be available in several sizes, 38mm to 47mm.
Butterfly Pasionaria
The case features the side inserts that have become ArtyA’s aesthetic hallmark, too, along with a fine plating of ArtyOr, the brand’s exclusive alloy, offsetting the golden colours on the dial perfectly.

The timepiece uses a Swiss Made three-hand automatic caliber and is set on a black leather strap featuring black hand-sewn top-stitching. This sober finish creates a discreet, authentic effect – all the better to highlight the natural beauty of the butterfly wings displayed on the Farfalla’s dial.

H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry Limited Edition

In an innovative design partnership, the iconic singer and musician Bryan Ferry and the Manufacture H. Moser & Cie. created a signature limited edition watch of 100 pieces, the Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry. This watch will be available from January 2016.

Widely regarded as the embodiment of the glamorous and romantic worlds evoked by his songs, Ferry is also lauded as an icon of sartorial and personal cool and as an accomplished designer in his own right. Having studied Fine Art under Richard Hamilton at Newcastle, Ferry is renowned for creating the legendary Roxy Music album covers and now a new legend: the H. Moser & Cie. limited edition Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry.
Drawing on inspiration from the historic models from H. Moser & Cie. , the Limited Edition references the dial details from specific H. Moser pocket watches: the dial is in a lacquered white with a matte finish  and with figures whose aesthetic clearly evoke the past, combining black and  touches of red.
This retro look is enhanced by the minute track which emphasizes the edge of the dial, as well as the traditional for m of the blued hands. This classic, timeless creation has an ultimate elegance coupled with a sobriety and it displays, every so discreetly, the name of Bryan Ferry in red at 6 o’clock, instead of the usual "Swiss Made".
Combined with a rose gold case with sculpted shapes with alternating polished and brushed surfaces, the buffed brown calfskin strap completes the Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry model.

RAYMOND WEIL freelancer (New Model - 7730-STC-60112)

The latest model from RAYMOND WEIL freelancer collection boasts a contemporary look. Blending polished steel, slate grey dial and orange detailing, the new freelancer has retained a distinctive personality and a style all of its own.

Featuring a mechanical movement with automatic winding and a 46-hour power reserve, this 42mm steel freelancer is distinguished by its classic and urban elegance. The date window has been redesigned to make it easier to read, as has the graduation of the tachometer scale on the inner bezel. The chronograph's orange hands sit in sharp contrast with the slate grey galvanic sun-brushed dial and black leather strap. The applique is secured by a signature screw, highlighting the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock. Its screw-down case back and crown guarantee that the timepiece is water-resistant to 100 metres.
The freelancer collection, a nod by the Swiss watchmaker to its independent company status, is the brainchild of Elie Bernheim, Raymond Weil's grandson and current company CEO, and was introduced when he joined the family business in 2006. Created in honour of free spirits and individuals wanting to remain masters of their own destiny, it has continued to evolve while retaining the features that make it so special. Free from all constraints, with an elegant yet casual look, bevelled horns and emblematic screws, this best-selling collection has emerged as a RAYMOND WEIL must-have.

Young Watch Brand Element24 Launches Crowd Funding Campaign

Established by Ben and David Gray, Element24, a new entrant to micro-watch brand world, presents their debut collection of minimalist watches that were created through modern manufacturing processes. Their design captures the beauty of the rarely achieved balance between precision and subtlety. Built with only the highest quality materials, Element24 watches are made to last.
Some features of this watch are a 316L stainless steel case and a sapphire crystal watch face, water resistance up to 5ATM (50 meters), and Miyota 1L45 quartz movement with separate second hand.
There are two style options available for the watch band: leather or alcantara (high performance, Italian micro-suede) and the choice of either a PVD grey or Stainless Steel finish. The Element24 color palette is deliberately narrow, and watches are designed to be worn by men and women.
Ben and David worked together to design the Element24 watch. Ben has a background in industrial design engineering in the medical field. He has led teams to produce leading medical devices that are used in health care facilities around the world. David is a senior product designer with experience bringing innovative products to high street. He works predominantly with furniture, but has also brought luggage and woodwork machinery products to market.
To raise funds for mass production, Ben and David are launching a Kickstarter campaign. Three different models of the Element24 watches can be pre-ordered until 8/12/15: Stainless Steel with Leather Strap, Stainless Steel with Alcantara Strap, and PVD Grey with Alcantara Strap.
