Hublot Big Bang Meca-10 Magic Gold Limited Edition

This exclusive limited edition timepiece incorporates two innovations. Firstly, the watch case is made from Magic Gold, the first scratch-resistant gold and the hardest variety in the world, developed and patented by Hublot with the EPFL five years ago. The second innovation is its beating heart. Its innovatively constructed movement, the Hublot Manufacture calibre HUB1201 reveals its entire original interlocking power reserve on the dial side.
Certified by the Central Office for Precious Metals Control Magic Gold is the first scratch-resistant gold in the world and demonstrates a hardness of almost 1000 Vickers. Now produced in the high-tech foundry at the Nyon Manufacture, this patented material with magical properties was created by the revolutionary fusion of 24-carat gold and ceramic.
The HUB1201 Hublot Manufacture movement has two parallel barrels with a rack-driven power reserve indication system, two racks sliding on a 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock axis thanks to a rack and pinion system, a double power reserve display, and a Meccano-inspired architecture for an innovative construction. On the dial side, the Big Bang Meca-10 Magic Gold reveals the mechanics of the movement and the unusual architecture of its rack-driven 10-day power reserve. Its manually wound skeleton mechanism displays the regulating organ at 7 o'clock, paired with small seconds. Limited to 200 pieces.

Rolex New Oyster Perpetual Explorer

The latest version of Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer boasts an updated dial design featuring the luminescent details for enhanced legibility. The model’s characteristic 3, 6 and 9 numerals are now filled with a luminescent material emitting a long-lasting blue glow, like the hour markers and hands. This exclusive Chromalight display offers exceptional legibility in any conditions. The hands are also broader and longer for enhanced visual comfort. In addition, as the assurance of its exceptional performance, the timepiece carries the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015.
The Explorer is emblematic of the privileged relationship that has always bound Rolex and exploration. A pioneering spirit prompted Rolex, in the 1930s, to equip numerous Himalayan expeditions with watches. Their observations had a direct impact on the development of the Oyster and the quest for greater precision, robustness and reliability. On 29 May 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay were the first to reach Everest’s 8,848-metre summit. This remarkable human adventure also served to reinforce the reputation of the Oyster watches that accompanied the expedition. The Oyster Perpetual Explorer, launched in 1953 in the wake of the successful ascent of the world’s highest mountain, soon achieved iconic status.

The Explorer’s Oyster case, guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet), is a paragon of robustness. Its characteristically shaped middle case is crafted from a solid block of particularly corrosion resistant 904L steel. The fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. Fitted with the Twinlock double waterproofness system, the winding crown screws down securely against the case. The crystal is made of virtually scratch-proof sapphire and the waterproof Oyster case provides optimum protection for the Explorer’s high-precision movement.
The Explorer is equipped with calibre 3132, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Its architecture, manufacturing quality and innovative features make it singularly precise and reliable. The oscillator, the true heart of the watch, has a blue Parachrom hairspring patented and manufactured by Rolex in an exclusive alloy. Insensitive to magnetic fields, the Parachrom hairspring offers great stability in the face of temperature variations and remains up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks. It is equipped with a Rolex overcoil, ensuring its regularity in any position. The oscillator is held firmly in place by a height-adjustable traversing bridge and is fitted between high performance Paraflex shock absorbers, developed and patented by Rolex, that provide 50 per cent greater resistance to shocks. Calibre 3132 is equipped with a self-winding module via a Perpetual rotor and offers a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.
The Explorer is complemented with a solid-link Oyster bracelet in 904L steel featuring an Oysterlock safety clasp that prevents accidental opening. It features the ingenious Rolex-patented Easylink rapid extension system that allows the wearer to easily increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm.

The Explorer is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. This exclusive designation testifies that the watch has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, which exceed watchmaking norms and standards. The certification applies to the fully assembled watch, after casing the movement, guaranteeing superlative performance on the wrist in terms of precision, power reserve, waterproofness and self-winding. The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer after casing is of the order of −2/+2 seconds per day, or more than twice that required of an official chronometer. The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that comes with every Rolex watch and is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.

Louann - Handmade Luxury Watches, Proudly Crafted in Greece

The Greek luxury watch brand Louann is making a return with an online crowd funding campaign on indiegogo. Founded by Loukas Mainas, an industrial designer from Greece and his girlfriend Ann, the Louann (Lou + Ann) luxury watch brand started its operations in 2002. In 2004 the company introduced Louann Transparent, the first Greek, entirely hand-made, luxury watch. However due to the economic crisis in Greece, the brand suspended its operations in 2009. With their crowd funding campaign, the brand is planning to create limited quantities of luxury/bespoke watches especially for the connoisseurs of high end horology. On its indiegogo camapign, Louann is offering two exclusive watch models - Louann Transparent & Louann Balancier.

Louann Transparent
Entirely hand-made in the atelier, the Louann Transparent was the first Greek luxury watch. The watch crafted with solid 18K gold is available in three separate tones to choose from white, pink, or yellow gold. Louann Transparent is available in gem-set versions.
It houses a rhodium plated Swiss automatic mechanical movement ETA 2824-2, specially made for Louann. Open back and screw down crown, sapphire crystal front and back, golden dial with enamel, it is fitted with a hand-made alligator strap or hand-made bracelet at the same color as the case.
It is water resistant up to 5Atm. From the tone of the gold, the amount and type of precious stones, the insignia, the details of screws and dials, the type and color of the band, each watch is bespoke and entirely matched to the customer's desires.

Louann Balancier
The brand created the second model called Louann Balancier in November 2016. Louann Balancier is also hand-made, in solid 18K gold in two-tone combinations to choose from (white, pink, gold), with a Swiss automatic skeleton ETA 2892A2 or with non-skeleton with closed dial.
This timepiece comes fitted with a hand-made alligator watchband. From the color of the gold, the amount and type of precious stones, the insignia, the details of the screws, the type and color of the band, again each watch is entirely bespoke.
From the stock of 2009, nineteen (19) Transparent and eight (8) Balancier (skeleton) movements manufactured by ETA are left with the atelier. Since ETA SA stopped supplying movements to watchmakers, except to the Swatch Group, Louann has decided to build and offer these twenty-seven (27) watches, with these specific movements mentioned above and offer them at discounted price.

For backers the special price of Louann Transparent with alligator strap is 6,700 Euros (retail price is 13,300 Euros) and for Louann Balancier skeleton version with alligator strap as well, is 10,500 Euros (retail price 19,700 Euros). These watches will be called “The gratitude watch” and will be numbered from 1 to 27 with a special engraving “GRATITUDE WATCH 1/27” and so on. Also, the name or initials of the owner will be on every watch.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust

Unveiled at Basel world 2016, the new generation Oyster Perpetual Datejust timepiece features an updated design in a 41 mm case and the new Rolex calibre 3235, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology. The new Datejust 41 is offered in yellow or Everose Rolesor versions – a combination of 904L steel and either 18 ct yellow or Everose gold – with a wide selection of dials. The new Datejust 41 carries the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015, which ensures singular performance on the wrist.
Rolex’s Datejust is the archetype of the classic watch thanks to functions and aesthetics that never go out of fashion. Launched in 1945, it was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date in a window at 3 o’clock on the dial, and consolidated all the major innovations that Rolex had contributed to the modern wristwatch until then. Aesthetically, the Datejust has spanned eras while retaining the enduring codes that today still make it one of the most recognized and recognizable of watches.
Rolesor, the combination of gold and steel on a Rolex watch, has been a signature feature of the brand since 1933, when the name was registered. It is an auspicious meeting of two metals: one, noble and precious, attractive for its lustre and stability; the other, highly resistant, known for its strength and reliability. All of these qualities perfectly mirror the elegance and performance that come together in a Rolex watch. The Rolesor concept is simple: the bezel, the winding crown, as well as the centre bracelet links are made of 18 ct yellow or Everose (Rolex’s exclusive patented pink gold alloy) gold; the middle case and the outer links of the bracelet are made of 904L steel. Introduced on the Datejust in 1948, Rolesor contributed largely to the legendary status of this wristwatch.
The Oyster case of the Datejust 41, guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet), is a paragon of robustness, proportion and elegance. The characteristically shaped middle case is crafted from a solid block of 904L steel. The fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. Fitted with the Twinlock double waterproofness system, the winding crown screws down securely against the case. The crystal, with a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock for easy reading of the date, is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire. The waterproof case provides optimum protection for the Datejust 41’s high-precision movement.

The Datejust 41 is equipped with calibre 3235, a new-generation movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. This self-winding mechanical movement is at the forefront of watchmaking.

A consummate demonstration of Rolex technology, with 14 patents, it offers fundamental gains in terms of precision, power reserve, resistance to shocks and magnetism, convenience and reliability. It incorporates the new Chronergy escapement patented by Rolex, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorus, it is also insensitive to magnetic interference.

An optimized blue Parachrom hairspring is fitted to the oscillator, the true heart of the watch. Patented and manufactured by Rolex in an exclusive paramagnetic alloy, it is also up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks. A Rolex overcoil ensures its regularity in any position. Calibre 3235 is equipped with a self-winding module via a Perpetual rotor. Thanks to a new barrel architecture and the escapement’s superior efficiency, the power reserve of calibre 3235 extends to approximately 70 hours.
The new Rolesor Datejust 41 is available on an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. Both bracelets, combining 904L steel and 18 ct gold, benefit from the new concealed attachment beneath the bezel, which ensures seamless visual continuity between the bracelet and case. They are equipped with a folding Oysterclasp and also feature the ingenious Rolex-patented Easylink rapid extension system that allows the wearer to easily increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm, for additional comfort in any circumstance.

The Datejust 41 is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015.

ArtyA Race Blue BBS

ArtyA Race is the rebellious Swiss watch maker’s first timepiece to draw inspiration from the world of NASCAR auto racing, the legendary contest that began in the 1950s in the United States. Responding to popular demand on the part of its clients with a keen interest in the sport, ArtyA has produced various limited editions of 99 watches. Now the brand unveils a new version, the Race Blue BBS.

With a diameter of 44.5 mm, ArtyA Race Blue BBS echoes the style of ArtyA’s mythical Russian Roulette in blue highlights with the addition of an aluminium rim above the carbon fibre dial. The piece even allows itself the luxury of a world first: the time is only visible when the watch is moving, thanks to the optical effect of transparency when the rim is spinning at full speed.
Another innovation is that the hub of the rim runs right through the dial and the sapphire crystal.  This is a fully exclusive ArtyA feature, and indeed a watchmaking first. It makes it possible not only to watch the rim spinning, but also to actually touch it as it does – without the piece being any less waterproof as a result.

To the rear, the Race Blue BBS celebrates the birth of a brand new oscillating weight. This sports a carbon fiber tachometer, complete with a needle in the middle and markers engraved directly onto the sapphire back. The assembly is free to rotate, in a striking mirror image of the animation on the dial side. Lateral inserts in fiber carbon.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 40 in Everose Rolesor Case with Chocolate Dial

Introduced in 2016, the new version of the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master comes in Everose Rolesor (a combination of 904L steel and 18 ct Everose gold) case with a chocolate dial. Its unmatched performance is assured by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015.

Waterproof, precise and reliable, this watch of the open seas is distinctive for its bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel in 18 ct Everose gold. The polished raised numerals and graduations stand out clearly against a matt, sand-blasted background.
On the Yacht-Master, the bezel as well as the centre bracelet links are made of 18 ct Everose gold (Rolex’s exclusive patented pink gold alloy); the winding crown, the middle case and the outer bracelet links are made of 904L steel.

The Yacht-Master’s Oyster case, guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet), is a paragon of robustness. The characteristically shaped middle case is crafted from a solid block of particularly corrosion-resistant 904L steel. The fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. The winding crown, fitted with the Triplock triple waterproofness system and protected by a crown guard that is an integral part of the middle case, screws down securely against the case, offering watertight security akin to a submarine’s hatch. The crystal, with a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock for easy reading of the date, is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire. The waterproof Oyster case provides optimum protection for the Yacht-Master’s high-precision movement.
The Yacht-Master 40 is equipped with calibre 3135, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Calibre 3135 is equipped with a self-winding module via a Perpetual rotor and offers a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.

The Yacht-Master is ftted on a solid-link Oyster bracelet in 904L steel and 18 ct Everose gold with an Oysterlock safety clasp that prevents accidental opening. It features the ingenious Rolex-patented Easylink rapid extension system that allows the wearer to easily increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm, for additional comfort in any circumstance.
The Yacht-Master is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona (New Version)

Launched this year, the new version of Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona comes in a 904L steel case fitted with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel, developed and patented by Rolex, in black ceramic. This latest evolution is a blend of high technology and sleek aesthetics, and pays tribute to the heritage of this legendary chronograph. The black bezel is reminiscent of the 1965 model that was fitted with a black Plexiglas bezel insert. The new Cosmograph Daytona carries the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015, which ensures singular performance on the wrist.
The new monobloc Cerachrom bezel in high-tech ceramic offers a number of advantages: it is corrosion resistant, virtually scratchproof and the colour is unaffected by UV rays. This extremely durable bezel also offers an exceptionally legible tachymetric scale, thanks to the deposition of a thin layer of platinum in the numerals and graduations via a PVD process. The monobloc Cerachrom bezel is made in a single piece and holds the crystal firmly in place on the middle case, ensuring waterproofness.
The robust Oyster case guarantees waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet. Its characteristically shaped middle case is crafted from a solid block of 904L steel. The fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. The winding crown fitted with the Triplock triple waterproofness system as well as the chronograph pushers are screwed down securely against the case. Its crown guard is an integral part of the middle case. The crystal is made of scratchproof sapphire.
The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with calibre 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Its architecture, a composite of Rolex technology, was completely re-engineered: the number of components for the chronograph function was reduced significantly, thereby enhancing its reliability. The robust chronograph is engaged by a mechanism with a column wheel and vertical clutch, allowing an instantaneous and extremely precise start. Calibre 4130 is equipped with a self-winding module featuring a Perpetual rotor and boasts a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.
The new Cosmograph Daytona is available on a solid-link Oyster bracelet in 904L steel, with an Oysterlock safety clasp that prevents accidental opening. It features the ingenious Rolex-patented Easylink rapid extension system that allows the wearer to easily increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm.
The Cosmograph Daytona is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. This exclusive designation testifies that the watch has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, which exceed watchmaking norms and standards. ZINVO- Blade Venom & Blade Nemesis

ZINVO adds two new models to their Blade collection—the Blade Venom and the Blade Nemesis. While both watches feature all-black 42mm stainless steel cases and a patent-pending dial design that includes a rotating turbine disc instead of a traditional seconds hand, each wristwatch also boasts its own unique design details.

Carbon fiber is the name of the game on the Blade Venom. Not only is the distinct pattern found on the black dial, but also on the black leather strap. The use of this particular material emphasizes the brand’s affection for epic supercars.
On the other hand, the Blade Nemesis flawlessly combines an edgy aesthetic with a touch of luxuriousness thanks to the 18k yellow gold chapter ring. The gleaming precious metal is a striking contrast to the rest of the watch’s all-black look.
Just like other Blade models, the Blade Venom and the Blade Nemesis are powered by automatic mechanical movements that provide up to 42 hours of power reserve. Furthermore, the exhibition caseback allows a glimpse of the watch movement working within.
For less than $350, the Blade Venom and Blade Nemesis wristwatches present a solid value proposition. Luxurious details such as an automatic movement, the sapphire crystal, a large steel watchcase, 18k yellow gold elements, genuine Italian leather straps, and so on, carry much heftier price tags on comparable models.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Pearlmaster 39

Introduced this year, the new gem-set version of the Oyster Perpetual Pearlmaster 39 highlights Rolex’s expertise in gem-setting. Dressed in a 39 mm case in 18 ct Everose gold and adorned with rarest diamonds, this precious watch houses the new-generation calibre 3235, backed by 14 patents, incorporating the Chronergy escapement developed by Rolex. The new Pearlmaster 39 carries the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015, which ensures singular performance on the wrist.
Renowned for its robustness and elegance, the Oyster case is waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet. The characteristically shaped middle case is crafted from a solid block of 18 ct Everose gold, cast by Rolex in its own foundry. The fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. Its screwed down winding crown is fitted with the Twinlock double waterproofness system. The crystal, with a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock for easy reading of the date, is made of scratchproof sapphire.
The calibre 3235 is a new-generation self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. A Rolex ovecoil ensures its regularity in any position. Calibre 3235 is equipped with a self-winding module via a Perpetual rotor. Thanks to a new barrel architecture and the escapement’s superior efficiency, the power reserve of calibre 3235 extends to approximately 70 hours.
With delightfully rounded solid links in 18 ct gold, the Pearlmaster bracelet contributes to the watch’s distinctive character and offers the wearer maximum comfort. It is fitted with a concealed Crown clasp that is both elegant and functional. An alternative version of the bracelet is available with intermediate links in 18 ct white gold sublimely set with diamonds.

The Pearlmaster 39 is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. This exclusive designation testifies that the watch has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, which exceed watch-making norms and standards.

Minuteman Automatic Watch Collection

US watchmaker Minuteman Watch Co. announces the launch of its first series of automatic watches. Debuted in the industry in 2013 by launching an exceptional collection of watches equipped with Swiss quartz movement, the Minuteman watch brand dedicates 25% of its sales to charity.

The new automatic watch series will ensure the young brand’s significant contribution to the traditional watch making in USA. Presently the brand is taking pre-orders for the models created under its automatic watch series. These mechanical timepieces will be assembled by highly skilled watchmakers in USA by utilizing highest specifications and quality control measures.
Crafted in Stainless Steel, the 42 mm diameter watch case houses a Miyota 9015 automatic mechanical movement. Proudly bearing their military connection, each model from the automatic timepiece collection pays tribute to the rich heritage of US Armed Forces.
Measuring a thickness of 10mm, the solid stainless steel case of each minuteman automatic watch is secured with double domed sapphire crystal glass on dial side and stainless steel case back on rear side. Fitted with a screw-down crown, the watch case can withstand water resistance up to 200 meters. The case is available either in brushed finish or DLC finish. On the dial side, you can see finely arranged hour & minute indexes, Arabic numeral hours markers for 12,3,6 & 9, 24 hours inner dial, date window at 3ó clock and lumed hands.
The Minuteman automatic series will offer 6 versions including 3 dial colors and two case finish types. “The Gray Man” model features a black dial with very light grey printing whereas the “Darby” version has a black dial with old radium styled superluminova details offering a vintage look. The “RWB” model will have a blue dial in metallic or sun ray style with white lettering ensuring an overall look in Red, White and Black combination.

The automatic watches from Minuteman are available with American made leather strap (22mm width) or Military style nylon strap depends upon the version/model. Presently, these watches can be pre-ordered with a discounted price starting from US$ 399 by visiting the Minuteman website.

IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Automatic Edition “Kuwait” (Ref. IW500708)

IWC Schaffhausen and its retail partner Behbehani Group have launched a limited-edition Portugieser watch to celebrate their successful partnership in Kuwait. The Portugieser Automatic Edition “Kuwait” has a green dial and is limited to only 98 pieces – a special reference to the year the partnership between IWC and the Behbehani Group was initiated.

In 1998, IWC Schaffhausen and the Behbehani Group started working together to bring the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer’s haute horlogerie timepieces to Kuwaiti watch lovers. Since then, the collaboration has expanded to include various points of sale.
The Portugieser Automatic Edition “Kuwait” (Ref. IW500708) has a stainless-steel case with a diameter of 42.3 millimetres and a green dial. The golden numerals and hands contrast nicely with the dial. The watch is limited to just 98 pieces, which is a reference to the year when IWC and the Behbehani Group started their partnership in the Gulf state. The timepiece features a power reserve display at “3 o’clock” and a small hacking seconds display at “9 o’clock”. A black alligator leather strap from Santoni complements the elegant appearance.

This special edition timepiece is powered by the IWC-manufactured 52010 calibre. The Pellaton automatic winding system builds up a power reserve of 7 days when the two barrels are fully wound.
The medallion on the rotor bears the initial “B”, which is another reference to the Behbehani Group. The Portugieser Automatic Edition “Kuwait” can be purchased exclusively at the IWC boutique at the iconic 360 Mall in Kuwait starting on the 14 December 2016.

Guitar Manufacturer C.F. Martin & Co. Collaborates with Premier American Watchmaker RGM Watch Co. for Showstopper Model and Introduces Limited Edition D-200 Deluxe Series

The legendary guitar manufacturer C.F. Martin & Co. is celebrating the two millionth guitar produced by the brand. This milestone product will be unveiled at Winter NAMM 2017 in Anaheim, CA from January 19-22, 2017.  To commemorate this remarkable milestone model, the leading guitar manufacturer has partnered with America’s premier watchmaker RGM Watch Co. another historic Pennsylvania-based company, to create a stunning one-of-a-kind model that will have a custom working RGM timepiece built into the headstock of the guitar.

Martin Guitar and RGM will also collaborate on the limited edition D-200 Deluxe. This collector’s model is limited to only 50 guitars and each model will feature a beautiful watch theme throughout the design, including the pickguard which has pearl inlays of watch gears. The guitar will also come with a custom RGM watch.
2 Millionth Guitar
The two millionth guitar will feature a D-45 style body, with the back and sides constructed from Brazilian rosewood. The top is crafted from highly-figured bearclaw Engelmann spruce. The intriguing aspect of the guitar is the use of a watch motif to mark the anniversary, replete with decorative gears, guilloché (a process of cutting geometric patterns into metal), decorative inlays and a working watch embedded within the headstock. In order to bring this idea to life, Martin recruited the help of one of America’s most notable watchmakers, Roland G. Murphy of RGM. Chris Martin IV, Chairman and CEO of Martin Guitars, instantly saw the value in what RGM brought to the table.

D-200 Deluxe
After 184 years, and in celebration of the two-millionth serial number milestone, C. F. Martin & Co. is introducing the D-200 Deluxe. In collaboration with renowned watchmaker Roland G. Murphy (RGM), this unprecedented instrument is symbolic of the passage of time with a unique watch theme displayed throughout the many highly decorative aspects of the model. A classic 14-fret Style 45 Dreadnought is the basis for this work of art. The top is crafted from highly-figured bearclaw Engelmann spruce that features an aluminum rosette with guilloché engraving – a refined process of cutting geometric patterns into metal that also appears on the stainless steel tuning machine buttons of the edition.

The guitar's back of rare pre-CITES Brazilian rosewood, is inlaid with spectacular watch gears cut from reconstituted stone, mother-of-pearl, bloodwood, Hawaiian koa and ebony. The equally spectacular soundboard inlays feature a minute track in mother-of-pearl, birdseye maple, flamed Hawaiian koa and ebony, and a pickguard with pearl inlaid watch gears. Yet another unique decorative detail is the triple-strand abalone pearl striping that bisects the length of each side, referencing the early Spanish-inspired instruments of C. F. Martin Sr. The maple bound ebony fingerboard showcases watch gear mechanisms with the highest level of delicate inlay art. Each guitar is furnished with a newly-designed wearable edition watch from RGM that references details from the D-200 guitar design and bears a matching serial number with each edition instrument. Lastly, each guitar comes in a premium aluminum Zero Manufacturing attaché case with a built-in hygrometer that allows the interior environment of the case to be seen without the need to open the case. Limited to no more than 50 highly-collectable pristine guitars, this instrument will be played and prized until the end of time. (MSRP: $149,999)

The Sif North Atlantic Rescue Timer (N.A.R.T.) 1948 is a classically styled Pilot rescue watch that is water resistant to a depth of 1000 meters.

This was the start of the Coast Guard's Aeronautical Division and in 1955 the Coast Guard then bought its first aircraft and in 1965 the first helicopter.

Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second

Oris’s highly acclaimed Pilot watch line is now joined by the Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second model, an elegant, stylish take on the Swiss watch brand’s classic pilot’s watch design.

The Big Crown ProPilot was introduced in 2014 as a practical pilot’s watch designed for life in the cockpit, but it has always had genuine crossover appeal. While the aviation community has embraced it, it’s also worn by stylish men and women who appreciate its balanced design, quality finish and confident aesthetic.

The Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second is an extension of this approach, designed both for pilots and also style conscious international travellers. It has a round steel case, oversized Arabic numerals (designed specifically for this watch), an oversized crown, and an elegant, clearly legible dial. The new Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second also oozes contemporary style. Its anthracite, sunray pattern dial and polished top ring give it a debonair, louche quality that will appeal as much to suited gentlemen as to airmen wearing a flight suit.
Since launch two years ago, the Big Crown ProPilot has become one of the most recognisable lines in the Oris collection. Innovative pieces such as the Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter – the world’s first automatic mechanical watch with a mechanical altimeter – have put the ProPilot on the map and won it the respect of the watchmaking and professional pilot communities. The collection’s aviation-inspired features include a coin-edged bezel, designed to mirror the geometry of a jet-engine turbine, and the oversized crown, a feature first introduced into watches during the early years of flight and designed so gloved airmen could still operate their watches.
Each Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second houses the Oris Cal 748 automatic caliber which powers a running seconds at 9 o’clock, a second 24-hour time zone indicated by an airplane-shaped pointer hand, and a big date at 3 o’clock.
Its 45mm stainless steel case comes on either a dark brown and grey leather strap or a choice of black, grey or olive textile straps with a folding clasp inspired by the design of passenger airline seatbelt buckles; or on a stainless steel bracelet.

The Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second will be available from December, priced CHF 2,200 on a strap or CHF 2,400 on a metal bracelet.

Oris Big Crown ProPilot Chronograph

Swiss watch maker Oris has been creating innovative, high-functioning pilot’s watches for almost a century. Suited to the environment found at the controls of a fighter jet, the highly functional ProPilot line from the brand caters experienced pilots, and stylish men and women who are charmed by the authentic aesthetic of classic pilot watches. This year a new model - the Big Crown ProPilot Chronograph – joins the family.
The new Big Crown ProPilot Chronograph extends the design philosophy of Oris’ pilot watch family with its round steel case, oversized crown and Arabic numerals (designed specifically for this watch), and balanced, clearly legible dial. Its anthracite, sunray pattern dial and polished top ring give it a slick, stylish feel that makes it every bit as at home under a suit cuff as when paired with flight suit.
The new watch also features a telemeter scale, running around the outside of the dial. A telemeter is a device for measuring the distance between you and an event you see first and hear second. Traditionally, telemeters were used in surveying and then in wristwatches by the military to calculate how far away the enemy were. The graduation on the telemeter scale is based on the speed of sound, 343 m/s.
The Big Crown ProPilot was launched in 2014 and has quickly become one of the most iconic lines in the Oris collection.
The new Big Crown ProPilot Chronograph houses a Oris Cal 774 Swiss Made mechanical automatic chronograph movement that powers a small-seconds counter at 9 o’clock, and chronograph central seconds and hours and minutes counters, as well as a date function.
Its 44mm stainless steel case comes on either a dark brown, black and grey leather strap or a choice of black, grey or olive textile straps with a folding clasp inspired by the design of passenger airline seatbelt buckles; or on a stainless steel bracelet.
The stylish, elegant Oris Big Crown ProPilot Chronograph pilot’s watch will be available from December, priced CHF 3,100 on a strap or CHF 3,300 on a metal bracelet.
