Swiss watch brand Alpina has used its experience as official supplier of military and pilot watches to develop a new version of its iconic Startimer Pilot Big Date Chronograph.
In the first 50 years of the past century Alpina was a renowned manufacturer and official supplier of military aviation watches to continental air forces. Early aviation pioneers had strict requirements: their instruments had to be extremely precise and provide ultimate shock resistance. In addition, Alpina pilot’s watches were mostly equipped with an anti-magnetic case, a high-contrast dial with oversized luminous numerals and luminous hands for instant readability. Since its initial launch in 2012, the Startimer Pilot Big Date Chronograph has enjoyed increasing popularity. The 2016 edition, comes with a new attractive military camouflage design and all the qualities expected in a high-performance Pilot’s watch: precision, functionality and reliability.
