Rudis Sylva Harmonious Oscillator RS16

In 2016, Independent Swiss luxury watch brand Rudis Sylva, which introduced the world premiere Harmonious Oscillator complication at Baselworld 2009, celebrates its 10th anniversary. The brand unveils its newest model equipped with the iconic Harmonious Oscillator movement manufactured in house by Rudis Sylva.

A contemporary mechanical horology complication, Harmonious Oscillator is considered as an important invention like the Breguet Tourbillon that created over 200 years earlier. The Harmonious Oscillator movement with toothed balances eliminates instantly the effect of gravity in the vertical position. The two toothed balances are interlinked. This link ensures the same amplitude. The symmetry and energy of the balance springs are in permanent opposition, enabling instantaneous average correction in the vertical position.
The latest model RS 16 has been designed by world renowned luxury watch designer Eric Giroud. The Harmonious Oscillator, a highly technical micro-mechanical marvel famed for its gravity-combating capabilities, is always associated with rare feats of craftsmanship such as engraving, enamelling, guillochage and bevelling.

The main plate of the movement features a hand-crafted guilloche decoration of tapering pyramids. Oscillator bridges are hand-bevelled and include 40 inward corners. 28 are bevelled in titanium. Both the movement and the case-back are engraved by hand, with the case-back also featuring grand feu enamel work.
