Lumbr Troy: Handcrafted Wood Watch with Visible Mechanical Skeleton Movement

Netherlands based brand Lumbr, which is renowned for stylistic accessories crafted in wood, presents Troy, a unique collection of wooden watches. Handcrafted from oak ship-wood, Troy is the first wooden watch to have a visible mechanical skeleton with automatic movement

Established by two Dutch men, Theo Lurvink and Bart, the brand took inspiration from the mythological story of Troy to create a wooden timepiece that possesses a fully visible mechanical skeleton with automatic movement. Troy’s case and strap are made entirely of beautiful, solid Oak or Walnut ship-wood. Both the front and back of the watch are made with scratch resistant sapphire glass.
Durable and dynamic in construction, this watch’s simplistic wooden design merged with modern specifications makes the timepiece stands out from the crowd. Delicately and individually handcrafted, each Troy watch has its own unique grain and pattern so that no two are exactly alike.
The watch case measures 46mm diameter and each timepiece can withstands water pressures up to 3 atm. The super luminous dial offers legibility in dark conditions.
Inside each Troy watch, we can discover a meticulously crafted skeletonised mechanical movement with self winding mechanism. The movement is Miyota 8N24 mechanical automatic calibre manufactured in Japan.
This 21 jewels skeletonised movement equipped with shock absorber mechanism is visible through the front as well as back sapphire crystal glasses. Handcrafted from solid oak wood, the Wooden watch strap, which can be customised to fit any wrist sizes, comes fitted with stainless steel butterfly clasp.
Lumbr has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the mass production of Lumbr Troy wooden watches. Pledge starts from €160. Each timepiece carries one-year international warranty.  Lumbr, established in 2013, makes beautiful wooden accessories like watches, sunglasses, speakers and wallets.
