TAG Heuer CARRERA – Calibre Heuer 01
New case, new construction, new design and new calibre: A Manufacture chronograph symbolically christened the Heuer 01 in honour of the founder, Edouard Heuer. Its supremely clean new design reveals the chronograph controls and the open-worked date disc on the dial side. On the case-back, its red column wheel - a bold visual anchor - the skeleton chronograph bridge and the black weight also draw the eye into the mechanism.
The subject of continuous improvement and optimisation over five years, it has attained a very high level of quality while its production costs have been carefully managed, making it the only 100% Swiss Manufacture Chronograph available for less than CHF 5000. It features a new generation TAG Heuer case. Made from steel for greater shock resistance, it is constructed differently, no longer the single piece traditionally used by TAG Heuer, but modular with 12 different components. This design opens up a huge range of possibilities, with an infinite combination of materials, colours, treatments and finishes.
TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre Heuer-02T
Just after the release of the TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01, the backbone of a new collection of contemporary manufacture chronographs, comes the TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-02T, a COSC-certified automatic chronograph combined with a titanium and carbon flying tourbillon. A symbol of the accessible luxury so dear to TAG Heuer, this watch symbolises technology, exemplary quality, performance, manufacture expertise, and the perfect mastery of industrial processes and manufacturing costs which have made it the only COSC automatic chronograph with Tourbillon produced by the Swiss watch industry for under 15,000 CHF. At 4 Hz, and 28,800 vibrations/hour, the main technical challenge was to house a single barrel, the chronograph functions, the automatic winding mechanism and the flying tourbillon within a diameter of 32 mm, whilst ensuring the counters were well spaced to createa modern, balanced look.
