Fernweh Clipperton

Fernweh, the young French brand founded by two passionate watch lovers, presents Clipperton, a contemporary wristwatch inspired from the authentic spirit of travel.
The dial design is based on that of single handed watches however Clipperton boasts two hands: One for central hour and one for small seconds. It does not feature minute hand. The single hour hand, by moving slowly, conveys the feeling that time is slowed, to regain a more natural rhythm and fully appreciate each moment. The small second hand placed at 6 o'clock ensures to remind you every precious seconds in your life.
Fernweh CLIPPERTON will be offered in two different dials: satin grey and black. Measuring a diameter of 40 mm, its 316L stainless steel case in satin finish is fitted with a domed, sapphire crystal front glass and houses a Ronda 1069 quartz movement. Other specific feature of the watch is its screwed-on crown which guaranties 10 ATM waterproof.
For this watch, Italian leathers have been selected to make the two different styles of straps. Indeed, the choice is left between a classic style for the traveler and a NATO style for the adventurer. Each personality owns its variant of interchangeable straps.
The brand has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the initial production of this timepiece collection. After twenty months of development, this first model is available since November 15th on the crowd funding platform Kickstarter at 99€ for the 50 first backers, then 129€ until December 15th. It will then be available on the website at 189€.
