Hawthorn Watch Co. - Hemingway and Hemingway Classic

The young watch brand Hawthorn Watch Co. presents their debut watch collection as a tribute to the family watchmaking tradition of one of its founders.
Based in Connecticut, USA, Hawthorn Watch Co. was founded by Brian Dunnigan and Jeremy Crossgrove. The company was inspired Brian Dunnigan’s grandfather, a watchmaker based out of New Haven, CT. After returning from World War II, his grandfather received government funding through the GI Bill and studied watchmaking at the Waltham Watch Company in Waltham, MA.
The debut collection of the brand consists of two watches, the Hemingway and the Hemingway Classic. Made of surgical grade 316L stainless steel and sapphire crystal, these watches invoke a vintage feel while keeping in step with modern design. Utilizing premium materials and a balanced design aesthetic, this multigenerational, heritage timepiece was born.
Each piece of the watch was custom designed and engineered over the course of 15 months, with the exception of the precision Swiss quartz movement. In watchmaking, fractions of a millimeter matter and HWC labored over those miniscule details until they were perfect. Each watch has 4 different colorways, for a total of 8 watches that will be available at launch.
On January 24th, 2017, Hawthorn Watch Co. launched its crowd-funding campaign through Kickstarter to promote their debut watch collection. The watches have an MSRP of $299 but now it is offered at a discounted rate of $149 on Kickstarter.
