Longines Conquest Classic FIS Alpine World Ski Championships St. Moritz 2017 Limited Editions

Longines is launching two limited-edition watches – one for women and one for men – to mark the Alpine World Ski Championships 2017. The brand thus pays tribute to its close ties with both the International Ski Federation and the alpine village of St. Moritz. These refined timepieces, from the Conquest Classic collection, will please men and women with a passion for skiing and a love of elegance.

As Official Partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Longines has for many years made its expertise in sports timekeeping available to the great White Circus during the FIS World Cup and the Alpine World Ski Championships. The brand’s involvement in the world of skiing rests on a long tradition of timekeeping for alpine races that was inaugurated in Saint-Imier in 1924.
To celebrate the Alpine World Ski Championships 2017 in St. Moritz, the Swiss watchmaking brand is launching a limited-edition model for men and women bearing the colours of this great international sporting event’s logo. Drawn from the Conquest Classic collection, a line known for its classic aesthetic such as those that contributed to the reputation and success of Longines across the world, these models are specially designed for those with a passion for alpine skiing who wish to wear a timelessly elegant watch, while experiencing the excitement of World Championship races.
Measuring 42 mm in diameter, the model for men houses an L678 automatic winding mechanical calibre in its steel case. The blue dial dial is set with 9 applied indices coated with Super-LumiNova® and makes an elegantly contrasting background to the moonphase display. . It features the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, the 24-hour indicator and the subdial for the seconds at 9 o’clock, as well as the 30-minute counter and the day-and-month display at 12 o’clock.  The date is indicated by a half-moon central hand.

As for the women’s model, it houses an L888 calibre in its 34 mm steel case. Hours, minutes and seconds stand out against its blue dial thanks to rhodium-plated hands coated in Super-LumiNova®. The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships logo is applied onto the transparent case back of both pieces, while a steel bracelet harmoniously completes the whole.
