Panerai Luminor Due - Luminor Due 3 Days 42 mm & Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic 45mm

The new LUMINOR DUE collection is the result of a challenge successfully overcome by the designers and engineers of the Panerai Manufacture: to offer enthusiasts a new interpretation of the brand’s iconic watch, the Luminor, which is absolutely faithful to the original aesthetic but with more contemporary functionality, achieved by a reduction in the thickness of the case compared to the historic one which is up to 40% for some models.

The lines of the LUMINOR DUE are inspired by the Luminor 1950 case, which represents the culmination of the Panerai creations made for the Italian Navy from the 1930s to the 1950s. The ingredients are the ones well known to every connoisseur of high quality watchmaking: the robust cushion case, the large dial surrounded by the bezel, the strong integrated lugs and the bridge-shaped device which seals the crown with a lever and protects it from accidental shocks. All the elements originate directly from the history of the brand and they have all been subtly redesigned to emphasise the versatility of a watch which is a perfect synthesis of the sporting spirit and the ability to wear it on every occasion, a combination of distinctive design and sophisticated watchmaking technique.

Luminor Due 3 Days
With a thickness of only 10.5 mm, the case of the new Luminor Due 3 Days is the thinnest Luminor case ever created. The remarkable efforts of Panerai’s designers are seen in a reduction in the thickness of almost 40% compared to several models in the Luminor 1950 collection with the same diameter. This reduction of thickness – and of weight – has been devised for all those who want to enjoy the distinctive identity of a Panerai watch while enjoying a different experience on the wrist.
Available in AISI 316L stainless steel or in an elegant red gold version, the case of the new Luminor Due 3 Days is 42 mm in diameter, it has the classic bridge device with sealing lever which protects the winding crown, and every component has a polished finish.
The sapphire crystal reveals the classic minimalist Panerai dial with figures and bar hour markers and the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock. Black in the steel version and anthracite grey in the gold one, the dial has the classic sandwich structure, displaying the time extremely clearly, and it is enhanced by a satiné soleil finish.
The back of the new Luminor Due 3 Days is open, so that the hand-wound P.1000 calibre can be admired; in the red gold model this calibre is presented for the first time in the sophisticated skeletonised P.1000/10 version. In it, the large brushed finish bridge which protects over half the surface of the calibre has been worked to reveal part of the mechanism, including the two spring barrels which provide the power reserve of three days.
In both versions the balance (which oscillates at 28,800 vibrations per hour) is fixed by a bridge with twin supports to ensure great security and stability. The movement also contains the device which stops the balance wheel and zeroes the seconds hand when setting the time (seconds reset), for perfect synchronisation of the watch with a reference time signal.
The Luminor Due 3 Days is supplied with a black alligator strap in the steel version (PAM00676) and with a light blue one in the red gold version (PAM00677). It is water resistant to 3 bar (about 30 metres).

Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic
The new Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic is the first watch in the LUMINOR DUE collection with automatic winding and it contains one of the most sophisticated movements made by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, the P.4000 calibre with decentralised micro-rotor. Compared to the similar Luminor 1950 models already in the collection, the ingenious structure of this calibre and the work of the designers has enabled the thickness of the case to be reduced by about 40% (10.7 mm), while maintaining the solidity, strength and functionality of the watch and leaving its distinctive design unchanged.
Immediately recognisable by the iconic bridge device protecting the winding crown, the case is available in AISI 316L stainless steel or in red gold, for those who prefer a version which is particularly suitable for more formal situations. This vocational elegance is accentuated by the polished version of the metal and the satiné soleil treatment of the dial, which is black in the steel version and anthracite grey in the gold one. The design of the dial, with its sandwich structure, is minimalist, in perfect Panerai style: figures at the cardinal points, bar markers corresponding to the hours and an auxiliary small seconds dial at 9 o’clock.
The new Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic has the P.4000 calibre. the thinnest automatic calibre developed by the Panerai Manufacture. The most distinctive feature of this calibre is the decentralised micro-rotor which rotates in both directions, feeding energy into the two spring barrels which accumulate a power reserve of three days. The balance bridge is the type with twin supports, more secure and stronger than the single cantilever balance cock, and the watch also has the device which stops the balance wheel when the winding crown is pulled out, for synchronising the time perfectly.
In the red gold model, the P.4000 calibre appears in the fascinating, precious, skeletonised P.4000/10 version, its 22-carat gold oscillating weight having Clous de Paris decoration. The bridges have circular brushed finish and gilded engraving, and they are skeletonised to allow a large part of the movement to be seen, every detail being clearly visible through the large porthole in sapphire glass which opens on the back of the case.
The Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic is supplied with a black alligator strap in both the steel version (PAM00674) and the red gold version (PAM00675). It is water-resistant to 3 bar (about 30 metres).
