Styrman & Crew Launches Kickstarter Campaign

Founded by Nicolas Bartschat and Fabian Weis, the young watch brand Styrman & Crew is creating a new trend in the watch industry. Since wooden watches leading to a growth in popularity, the two German students thought sustainability ought to be possible with classical watches, too.

Motivated by this thought they started with their first model “Magellan” in autumn. The straps of this model are produced in Germany and certified according to ECARF, IVN and Biokreis. From the species-appropriate treatment of the animals to the environmental friendly manufacturing processes, the leather is strictly monitored. In contrast to other watch brands, the leather is not tanned with toxic and environment unfriendly chemicals. Styrman & Crew uses natural leather that is tanned with fruits and rind coming from organic animal husbandry.
Further, these timepieces are equipped with a Swiss quartz movement manufactured by Ronda. The stainless steel case is fitted with a sapphire glass. Available in two sizes – 36mm and 40mm – the watchcase has a water resistance up to 5ATM.
Beside the watches, the boxes they come with have their own character. Produced by recycled wood of old Balinese boats, they all have an individual look and are perfect to use as a jewelry box.

Since its establishment, Styrman & Crew has sold several hundred of their sustainable watches. Now the brand has launched a campaign on the crowd funding platform Kickstarter. During the campaign, the backers can pre-order the Styrman & Crew watch with a discounted price starting from 129 Euros.
